  • Perfect for the job
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
Great value at a small price. Came with all the parts and extra blades. Laser guide is on point. Very small and lightweight easy to use for those jobs that you don't have room or too much effort for the larger saws. This was a great addition to my shop. Glad I bought it.

  • Tip to help
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
I just received this today and struggled to remove the bolt that holds the blade - as I saw SO many others did, as well, and some returned theirs. Just wanted to review quickly to let any of you know that I actually used my cordless screwdriver with a bit that fit and it took that bolt right off! That is as far as I have gotten so far, so I will have to update this late when I have actually used this saw! Also, another reviewer mentioned that the order is thick washer, blade, thin washer, bolt....just in case! 09/15 update: gave this a try to be sure it works. It is a bit awkward to use - where the button and trigger are, especially for a left-handed female. It can be done and I'm sure, with practice, it will get easier. Other than that, was satisfied with how easy it is to use. The laser stayed right on the line - I clamped a guide on just in case, after reading other reviews. Also, there was a question posted about where to install the laser battery - I only had to pull the clear tab out and switch the light on - no battery to install. I like that the saw comes with 2 of each types of blades. I would recommend this and also liked that the reviews were not people who received a free item for their review - that makes me skeptical as to how accurate those are. This girl paid for hers and if I can use it, I know you can, too! Looking for more projects! ... show more

  • Great little hand tool
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
Always appreciate when the manufacturing puts in extra parts like a spare knob and an extra blade bolt. Blades are cheap but easily replaced. Perfect to rip < 0.5 inch plywood / hardwoods.

  • Worked Great Until It Didn't, Still Worth Buying For What I Needed It For
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
I am an "advanced DIYer", having renovated and/or built many structures. I needed a small saw for a small project (16'x8' extension, 16" OC, ply sheathed) in the Caribbean, where "board houses" are not common (mostly concrete/breeze block), but I needed to do it quickly, so couldn't wait for the 'rubber time' attitude towards getting things done. I sent this and some other tools and consumables ahead. This project was to take me 4-5 days, ended up being about ten days because the concepts of 'square, level, and plumb' are still developing there. Was cutting treated 2x6 and 2x4 material, plus some 5/8 ply, so nothing too heavy. A couple/few hundred cuts in all, give or take. We worked about 4-6hrs/day, no rain but hot/humid. RIGHT at the end, with literally a few cuts to go, this saw gave up the ghost. It seemed a gear had stripped internally and wouldn't engage the drive, and I didn't have the time to open it up and strat trying to fix it, so I borrowed a death-trap 7in circular saw from someone for a day to knock it off. So that's the story on the longevity of the saw. As far as performance, it worked awesomely! Once I had set it up. It needed some tweaking on the alignment and so forth straight out of the box, but that is something that any saw needs checking on anyway, so not a negative, just an FYI. The angle of the footplate changed a couple of times, only slightly, but I was cutting and installing one piece of lumber at a time, so I noticed the wonky angle of a couple of cuts as I went and fixed accordingly, on the go. Again, this happens with other saws too. The laser seemed fine, but I didn't use it all that much. Plunge cuts into ply were clean and trouble-free. The blades that came with it performed perfectly. It had plenty of power to cut my materials - not as much as a full-size saw, of course, but I wasn't pushing it hard and all the cuts were fine. I actually like the left-hand blade position better than a standard circular saw, YMMV. The little fence that comes with it moves slightly when you're clamping it down with the hex bolt, that's something that users need to be aware of if you're really looking for sub-1/16th accuracy. It mounts from either side, so that's a plus. I find most blade guards are a bit of a PITA when cutting thinner material, but the left-handed setup works well to deal with this as a right-hander. Left thumb pushes guard handle up, right hand operates saw, no worries. So all in all I'd say that this is a 'project' saw, not a lifer. If you're doing a few cuts here and there occasionally, this will work great. My issue was that it lasted not very long in not difficult conditions in the hands of a careful and experienced user of similar tools, so don't expect this to build you a McMansion. Without the longevity issue, this would be a five-star review, but remember it's a cheap saw...! ... show more

  • very good do the job
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
I'm very handy I do all repair jobs for my house and for the fam. I have never use this type of tool, One thing I have to say "WHY I HAVE NOT BOUGHT THIS BEFORE ?" OMG I'm so impressed, the power, the cutting force and the efficiency it was tremendous. Buy this one you will not regret. but other blades in the same date to accommodate you project. otherwise you will have to wait for additional days for the blades delivery. The only thing it's very heavy but it makes up for the power. I was cutting ceramic tiles , it looks like it was with a surgical knife ... show more

  • Good Saw but...
Color: 5.8a Mini Circular Saw
I purchased this saw for a specific purpose, which it did well. It is very good for what it is. I replaced the blade with a Diablo. It does come with blades and they do cut. I did not find the saw awkward to use as others have and actually like the smallness of it for appropriate projects. My issue is the laser. I really liked it but then it stopped working. I figured the batteries, so I replaced with fresh and still no laser. In the user manual they provide a support email. I emailed that address but it comes back as not a valid email. I tried contacting the vendor (Jack Power) thru Amazon messaging but nothing. Also there is no warranty information listed anywhere on this item. Like I said, I don't have an issue with the saw just the laser and no way to contact the manufacturer or response from the seller. ... show more
