  • Don't let the drilling scare you... it's very easy to install.
The net is well made and works both horizontally or vertically. I've only just installed it, so can't really speak to how well it'll hold up, etc. but it seems to be of the same quality as the OEM net that came with my 2013 Odyssey. I am using this net in a 2016 MDX SH AWD. The install is simple. You feel around with your finger for the holes/dimples in the carpet that mark the spot where there is factory installed hardware designed for aftermarket stuff like this. The instructions state there are 2 holes in the MDX and to use the bottom one. Mine felt like there were 3 holes, but the middle was a little smaller, so maybe it was just my imagination. I used the bottom hole on each side and they lined up with no problem. I just used a 3/16" bit as another reviewer mentioned to break through a thin piece of plastic behind the carpet lining. The instructions tell you to use an 8mm bit first, then a 14mm bit... and to only go 10mm deep. That's way more detail than is needed... just pop through the thin layer of plastic behind the carpet with a 3/16" bit, no measuring required. You'll feel it, there is no way you'll get confused by this or drill to deep. After the hole is drilled, just stick the anchor thingies in the hole and feel around until you feel it seated in the threads. Screw it in by hand. All done. Install took about 2 minutes for both sides. ... show more

  • Multi purpose and Easy to install.
I had one of these style cargo nets for my Toyota Tundra and it came in so handy. It allowed me to store things in the back of the truck and items would not slide all over the place. Given that that MDX back is very small if you are using all three rows this net has multiple purposes. First, if you want to keep things from falling out when you open the back gate this is great. If you have smaller things and want to keep them secure in the net, you can as well. In addition this net comes with two extra hooks which allow you to multi purpose this net as a cargo cover if you drop the third row seating to keep objects in place. The net conveniently unzips to become a larger cover all net instead of bag. Its a great addition to the MDX and at a much cheaper cost than OEM pricing. I recommend watching the YouTube videos on how to locate where the screw holes are so that you don't accidentally damage your felt liner. I was able to install this in about 5 minutes with minimal issues. One note, the screws do not go all the way in. Great product. ... show more

  • Product is nice but I had a small issue.
The net fits the 2018 MDX perfectly. The install did require drilling holes in the trim panel which is a bit nerve wracking on a brand new car but easily done if you take your time. The product seemed to be perfect but one of the anchor bolts was cross threaded and would not fully seat into the trim. I reached out to the vendor to send a new bolt which is probably a .10 cent piece. He required a photo to prove the bolt was bad. I had no way to tell if a cross thread would show in a photo and I was annoyed since it was a very inexpensive part. I refused and told the vendor I would simply return the entire item for a refund. At that point he relented and sent a single new anchor bolt. That arrived on Sept 19 , so much for Prime shipping... I installed the bolt and all is well. I just wished the vendor would use some common sense. I didn't ask for a new net ( the most expensive part of the kit I would assume) but a singe bolt. Hence my reduction of a star. It is a nice product and the vendor eventually came through but I didn't need the angst. ... show more

  • Perfect addition to MDX -- NOTE - you do NOT need a drill!
This is a great addition to the MDX. I have a 2018, and all of the favorable reviews apply (yes, it fits the 2018 perfectly). Some tips: 1. Definitely watch the youtube videos as suggested in other reviews. There is one called "2016 Acura MDX cargo net installation" by ralfmalf72 (Happy Days reference going way back, nice) that is perfect. It shows you exactly where to find the threaded bolt holes that are covered up by the factory carpet. CAREFUL - there are two sets of holes - one is up too high and is the wrong set - watch the vid to find the right holes. 2. BUT, in the video and in several reviews, there is lots of talk about drilling and drill bits. If you don't have that sort of equipment or if the idea of drilling holes in your new vehicle is off-putting -- disregard. All we're talking about is 1/16"-thick felt carpet here. You do not need a drill, chainsaw, jaws of life, or any other power tool at all. A sharp knife is all you need. Simply locate the holes, cut a small "X" directly over the holes, and you will be able to insert the net hook bolts just fine. Wiggle the bolt around a bit until you find the pre-threaded hole and it screws right in. (This is starting to sound like the banana slicer review - which, btw, you should search for if you haven't seen it.) Anyway, a couple of small cuts with a sharp knife and my trunk net is perfectly installed and works fantastic. Even if I decide to remove the net and the bolts, no one will ever notice the 2 small X's in the cargo liner carpet. Just thought this might help those that get a little nervous when power tools are mentioned. ... show more

  • Misleading
Nowhere did it say that you have to drill into you're truck to anchor the hardware. I'm mechanical inclined but when I tell you that installation process is beyond mine & I assure you many of you're average people's ability. No I have to 100's to a Auto body shop to correct my mistake. Stay away from this product. Never mentioned the abilities needed to install. Now a 30 dollar product is gonna wind up costing me 100s. Oh & hardware is ridiculously inferior materials. ... show more
