Plain and simple: You couldn't find a better value for the price. I had been using a rigid cane for several years, when I finally wore through the rubber foot. I decided that was the perfect motivation to go cane shopping. Unfortunatley, I hadn't even thought to check Amazon. I did some googling, and found a couple medical supply sites, and ordered several folding canes. Sadly, I was quoted a 2-week delivery time. Being worried about scarring my flooring with my old cane, I decided to jump on Amazon and see what I could find (and use my Amazon Prime membership to get it here quickly). I found this cane and figured for $12, I'm sure it will last the 2 weeks until the other canes arrive. When the other canes did arrive, I found this cane to be of the best quality (quite a feat, since some of the others were $50 canes). I've been so happy with this cane, that I ordered one for my grandfather, after hearing he was having a little trouble getting around. I'm 6'2", 250lbs. He's 5'4", 140lbs. And we both find this cane to be very comfortable. Considering our different sizes, I was blown away that we both like this cane. I've since ordered another of these canes that I keep in the car as a backup, just in case. A few notes: The "carrying case" is just cheap clear vinyl. If you need a carrying case that can take some abuse, you'll want to look into something else. Some folks mentioned that the cane is a bit "squirmish" when folded up, and that's true. With the elastic shock-cord running down the middle of it, it "wants" to be unfolded. It is both a blessing and a curse. On the plus side: to unfold the cane, all you have to do is let it unfold itself. On the negative side: it is a bit difficult to keep "calmed down" while folded up. However, I've found this to be true of all of the folding canes I've purchased, regardless of the brand name or quality-level. I recommend adding a nylon or Velcro strap to it when it's folded up. So, considering the price, you can't find a better value. UPDATE January 2 2012: I've been so happy with this cane, that I felt the need to give it more praise. I now own half a dozen of these canes. I keep one in all of my relatives cars (as a backup), and an additional one with an ice-spike tip for those slippery winter days. And to sweeten the deal, it seems the price has gone down a little since my original purchase. At this price, how can you afford not to keep a few of these around the house/car? With my large hands, the handle isn't the most comfortable I've sampled, but as a backup, it's more than sufficient. I strongly recommended product. ... show more

Very nice cane, sturdy, easy to fold and unfold, great price. Gave it to a friend and he really likes it. He doesn't always need it but he likes it because he can carry it in his backpack when he goes for walks, in case his ankle starts bothering him.

I was able to fold this up and put it in my average size daypack. I'm 5'6" but if you are much taller it might not fit in a daypack, because you'd have to lengthen the cane, and that impacts the length when folded. The cane was comfortable to use when unfolded.

This is my first cane, and I honestly was not too thrilled with the idea at first. One of the qualities I was looking for in a cane is not-so-obviousness. Luckily, the black version of this cane is fairly inconspicuous. I can walk with better balance and less pain, and not worry that people are staring at it. This cane is sturdy, easy to figure out (I didn't need to read the directions in order to fold and unfold.) The "attractive carrying case" is just clear plastic, but it folds so small that it could fit into a messenger bag or large purse. The folding comes in handy when out to eat, at a meeting, etc. The handle fits great in my hand, making the whole thing more comfortable. all in all, I am quite happy with this purchase. ... show more

Love this cane. I have badly damaged legs so often need a little help with stability and this one works great. Love that I can fold it and stick it in the large bag I use as a purse (carry tablet plus this, wallet, etc). Very convenient and not so cumbersome as a regular cane.

This handy cane folds to a mere 12 inches, supports up to 250 pounds and weighs only 12 ounces. Some of you may scoff at the cane's plastic handle but, believe me, it's very comfortable and doesn't show scratches. If you scratch a wooden-handled cane, the lighter wood shows through - ugly. I also have foam-handled canes and they're nice but when it rains the handle gets squishy. The cane is adjustable from 33 to 37 inches in height. It's a shame that someone (who doesn't own the cane) gave it one star because the height wasn't in the description - that is not the cane's fault! My other canes were more expensive but I like this one best! ... show more

This cane lasted a year, although I had to fix the tab that adjusts the height after less than a year. Then the handle cracked and was cutting into my hand. I glued it back together but it broke again. It says "lifetime warranty" on the handle but that's a lie. The phone number provided is a voice mailbox, and they say they will get back you in 24-48 hours. I'm still waiting after two messages left in three days. They also say in their voicemail announcement that replacement parts cost $9.99, which is almost what I paid for the cane itself. It's supposed to be collapsible, but that was extremely difficult to do the few times I tried it. ... show more
