I ordered 2 of these for my large greek head pots. The shipped items arrived fast as promised. I used them in the back of my yard at the fence line . I'm 78 years old and knew that I could not lift the column after it was filled with the 50 pounds of sand, so I dug a small area level and placed the columns in UPSIDE down with the hole at the top. Filled them and replaced the plug. I them glued a tile on the top to keep water from going into the column. This may not have been needed, but didn't want to look back one day and wish I had done this. After this I hammered a pipe into the back area behind the column to tie it to keep them stable. Placed my 44 pound Greek head pots on them. I could not be happier. The plants cover the bottom of the posts and the look is perfect. The bottom is beautiful as the top. ... show more

I originally purchased these for my two poinsettia plants but unfortunately the plants didn't make the duration. Instead I put my two Tuscano Dragon statues on them and they looked awesome. I can think of a thousand different uses for these even though they are lightweight. I would recommend making sure you put these on a solid flat surface as they are a lightweight resin so may not be good on carpet or uneven surfaces. But for plants, statuary, etc. these really look like expensive pillars and work well for my Champaign tastes on a beer budget. Definitely recommend. ... show more

I am very please with this plinth. It looks like rock. My plant Robert seems to like it too. Mine came with scratches (probably unintentional) but it gave it a bit of realism. I use mine in the dinning room, but you can pull out the large plastic plug and fill it with sand to use it outdoors. don't know how the finish will hold up in the sun and rain, but for my needs it works perfectly. ... show more

I’ve been looking for a St Francis statue for the back yard for a while that didn’t cost a fortune. This one is beautiful and priced perfect. It is a composite material but doesn’t look it. I put rocks around the bottom so it won’t fall over in strong winds. I love it!

I love this column! I put it on my deck and placed a huge hanging flower basket on it. Amazing!! It's very lightweight, so you need to put some sand in it to weight it down. there's a plug on the base for it. Don't go crazy tho, otherwise it'll be too heavy to move it. I estimate I put enough sand to fill it one-third of the way. A heavy plant on top completes the balance. We've had some strong T-storms with high winds this summer in NH, and it held up beautifully! ... show more

Not plastic but made of strudy fiberglass cpmposite construction. It was hollow not solid like a bird bath and I could run a pipe through it. It can be removed to access and clean out the pipes. If you do this be sure to cut the cross sections streight. I had trouble glueing it back togehter. Nothing stuck to the composite material. I purchased a 4 inch PVC coupler and glued it inside with ceramic tile mastic. These newer mastics are water based and can be washed off after the project is complete. It is togehter firmly now. Fantastic! For a hollow resin pedestal it is far more substantial than I thought it would be. I will fill it with concrete, set a long threaded bolt in bottom and screw it into a concrete block that is set in the ground... It won't go anywhere! I am pleased!
