🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The CUK pre-built gaming PC has overwhelmingly positive reviews, highlighting its impressive performance, excellent build quality, and thoughtful packaging. Customers also praised its quiet operation, lack of bloatware, and good cable routing. However, a few reviewers noted issues with heat management and inconsistent USB port functionality.

Pros

  • 🖥 Excellent performance: Handles any game with ease, even at 4K.
  • 📦 Secure and thorough packaging: The PC arrives in perfect condition.
  • 💡 Lack of bloatware: Comes with a fresh Windows 11 install and little else.
  • 🔌 Good cable routing: Keeps the inside of the case neat and tidy.

Cons

  • 🔥 Heat management: One reviewer reported excessive heat, requiring supplementary cooling.
  • ⚡ USB inconsistency: Some USB ports may not work properly.
  • 💿 Slow HDD: The secondary mechanical hard drive is noticeably slower compared to the NVMe drive.

Should I Buy It?

Given the many positive aspects such as the PC's performance, thoughtful packaging, and lack of bloatware, this product is recommended for those looking to purchase a pre-built gaming PC. Make sure to factor in some potential issues around heat management and USB port functionality, and keep in mind that the included HDD is relatively slow. Overall, it appears to be a solid choice for most gamers.

  • Great System with Quality Build
Size: RTX 3070 | 32GB | 512GB NVMe + 2TB HDD
I purchased the model with the i9 9900k/32GB RAM/RTX 2080. PACKAGING AND SHIPPING I was a little apprehensive to purchase after reading some reviews regarding damaged or poorly assembled products. When I received the computer, it was packed in a brown outer box (that was a bit abused) with about a couple of inches of space around it filled with some pink packing peanuts and the CUK box inside. The inner box with the actual computer had large styrofoam inserts to protect the computer. The package required a signature upon delivery since it was high value. The computer came on-time in a couple days as expected. When unpacking the computer I made sure to carefully inspect it since other reviews mentioned scratches or damaged components. The tempered glass side was in perfect condition and had a protective film on it. Not sure how another customer said the glass shattered upon unpacking since the film would have kept that from happening. Inside the actual case was a special foam pack that was used to make sure the components (especially the video card) would not jostle around inside the case. All I had to do was remove the 4 screws on the glass panel to remove the foam pack inside. COMPONENTS AND BUILD QUALITY The system came with an MSI z370-A Pro motherboard, 2x Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4 RAM chips, an Asus Turbo GeForce RTX 2080, Intel i9 9900k processor, a 500GB NVMe drive, and a 2 TB 7200 RPM HDD. The build quality was good with all the cables neatly organized and out of view. The package came with an envelope with all the component manuals and extra cables. The system did not come with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth built in, so I purchased a separate card for both that was basically plug and play. The system also came with a checklist sheet signed off by the tech that built it and a QA person. Everything was checked off but the only thing they missed was attaching the HDD with screws, so it was loose in the case, but in an enclosed part of it where it wouldn’t mess with any other components. They included all the extra screws, so I was able to attach it myself. They also replaced the OEM case screws with thumbs screws for easier access. NOISE The sound is a bit louder than my previous HP computer, but that was expected considering the components and amount of fans. There was a very, very faint pulsing buzz from one of the front-mounted case fans, but I basically had to bring my head right up to the case to hear it. I only discovered it because it was shaking the Wi-Fi antenna I placed on top of the case, so I just moved the antenna and I don’t really notice it. SPEED AND PERFORMANCE The computer is fast. I play on a 3840 x 1600 screen and was able to get very smooth performance on Planet Coaster with everything on full. I mainly bought it for video editing and performance in Premiere Pro is great. The 2080 and 2080Ti have almost similar performance in Premiere Pro so I went with the 2080 system. I was able to stack quite a few effects and still get smooth real-time performance with this system. I’m looking forward to being a lot more productive. My only issue is that the GPU runs pretty hot. It was maxing out at 85ºC while playing some games (see update). OTHER THOUGHTS The system came with a little remote you can use to change the color and light pattern of the case fans. I thought that was pretty cool. The case has a white light that shines out of the bottom groove in front of the case when it’s on. That didn’t change color with the fans. I haven’t checked if I could change it somehow yet. The GPU (Asus Turbo GeForce RTX 2080) also does not have a backplate, so it looks kinda ugly (IMO) in the case how it's mounted. The case has an optional vertical mount for the GPU, but you'll need some extra stuff for that. Since my GPU is already running hot, I probably won't vertical mount it since it will probably sit to close to the side of the case and reduce airflow to the GPU. UPDATE: I did vertical mount the GPU and it's beautiful. Since the GPU has a blower style fan, vertical mounting didn't affect cooling at all. It actually might have helped since it wasn't sucking in all the hot air from the radiator for the liquid cooler. I also added a couple led strips that plugged right into the existing controller. I had to get the LEDdess ones since they don't use standard RGB headers. Also, after adjusting the stock GPU fan curve with ASUS GPU Tweak II, the GPU doesn't go above 70°C anymore. ... show more

  • My 2nd CUK purchase :)
Size: RTX 4090 | 64GB | 2TB Gen4 NVMe + 6TB
My last PC still performs well after a couple years, so I decided to go with another CUK build in the same style (I use a 2 pc setup for streaming). Overall really solid build, I did have a slight issue getting the packing foam out (ended up bending the gpu weight bracket slightly because the foam expanded around it and I couldn't reach in to unscrew it, but it bent right back easily). Also had a sticker on the glass panel that was a huge pain to take off. That took me longer than the rest of the setup. Hardware all performs about average (based on 3DMark, don't bother using UserBenchmark). A little bloatware on setup, but that's unavoidable these days, didn't take long to uninstall the extra junk. They include all the extra hardware and paperwork from all the components, which is nice. Very happy with how it all turned out. So far gaming has been smooth, I mostly play Destiny 2 and get a constant 144 fps on 1440p (maybe time to upgrade to 4k?) and temps all stay pretty low. I'll update this review if I have any issues come up, but my 3080 ti build from them a couple years ago has yet to have any issues, so I'm confident this 4090 build will be fine :) ... show more

  • Great Product, even greater support!
Size: RTX 4090 | 64GB | 2TB Gen4 NVMe + 6TB
This computer has been everything I hoped it would be. I use it for work way more than play, using it to render 3d environments. Rendering these images has always been the bottleneck of my job, and this computer has dramatically increased the rate at which I can produce those images. The seller/customer support has absolutely been top notch. I contacted them because I needed this product quickly and they were easy to get in touch with, and very helpful. I've now owned the computer for almost a year and had an issue with the MSI motherboard communicating with Windows, and it was an issue that they weren't remotely responsible for. I only contacted them to get the product number for my Windows, but they went above and beyond to help me solve my issue, saving me money, and even more appreciated was them saving me from having to spend hours and hours more on the phone with Microsoft customer support. Very helpful, very friendly, and I'm a happy customer! ... show more

  • One whole wasted month with nothing to show for it - Broken, Poor Quality, and a used HDD with Porn
Size: RTX 4090 | 64GB | 2TB Gen4 NVMe + 6TB
The media could not be loaded. Just an absolutely terrible experience with this PC. After spending nearly $4000 on a computer I expected to open the box, and have nothing but a great experience. Wrong. So very wrong. First it arrives damaged and missing components after taking a week to arrive. So it has to be mailed back. It takes a week to get to them. Sits are their facility for a week. Then week three it ships back to me. Nearly a whole month after the original order, a computer finally arrives undamaged. Hook it up. And the Bluetooth is broken. None of my Bluetooth devices will connect. Check the reviews, apparently that's just a known issue for this $4000 computer to have trash Bluetooth and I have to buy my own dongle. Also the fans in this thing are crazy loud. Like they were put in wrong and rattle when they spin up. Oh and like the cherry on top of this awful experience... the second hard drive that comes preinstalled.... was used had gigs of PORN and applications on it!!! Also if you have any customer service issues. They cut and run instantly at 5pm on Friday, so don't expect any help or updates Saturday or Sunday just gotta sit and wait with any problems till they get back Monday. The actual customer service employees when communicating with you are incredibly polite. But holy crap literally every other single aspect has been awful. I was given a refund and apology but like, is that really enough? I feel so incredibly disappointed with this whole process. ... show more
