These knives are nice and sharp right out of the box. Hopefully, they will stay that way for a while and the built in knife sharpener will continue to do its job. I used the kitchen scissors to cut chives in small pieces and they worked great. They cut through quickly and easily. I used the knives to chop or cut various things for dinner. They were efficient but are pretty light weight. There is not much weight or balance to them. The steak knives are sharp enough, but not as sharp as others I have on hand. Overall, I would say this is a decent set of kitchen knives, but not superior.

This is one beautiful, quality set of knives and block. I had bought another set from the same seller, Emojoy, two or three years ago. I really liked it, and intended to keep it for as long as it would last. But, knowing that my daughter needed a knife and block set, I decided to order this one when it came available. My daughter happened to stop by last night with her chilluns (my granchilluns) and the first thing she spotted was my new knife and block set. She was stunned. She was more stunned when she found out that I hadn't gotten it for her, but for myself. However, she was very happy with my 2-year-old set because I had taken extra special care of it. I had only just an hour before removed the knives from their plastic wrap & cardboard, washed & dried them, and put them in the block. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to what I was doing and cut myself just slightly with one of the knives. After that I was paying a lot of attention. These knives are super sharp! I used the utility knife and the slicing knife earlier this afternoon to cut up vegetables for salad, and to slice some Conecuh sausage to go with red beans and rice for supper. Easy peasy. Soooo, this is a beautiful knife set with extra sharp blades that look really good in my kitchen and will make all my slicing and chopping chores very easy. Pleased as punch!

We've had this exact set of knives but in silver for years and we love them. We decided to get a new set of the same knives as our old ones were dwindling down from sharpening. These did not disappoint. They are super sharp and look amazing. The black knives are a nice change, and they look so sleek that we actually took them out of the block and hung them in our kitchen on a magnetic strip as a statement piece. The block itself has a built-in sharpener which is such a great feature if you plan to keep them in there. These knives work great and look even better!

The media could not be loaded. This is a very nice knife set. It comes with knives, shears, and a block that had a built in knife sharpener. The knives are sharp (in both cutting and cute) and black all over which is an added bonus. This set is a must!!!
