This 4" king box (not-exactly-spring) was just what we needed. It fit perfectly on the bedframe and even looks good. Thank goodness for our strong and capable nephews who picked up the gosh-awful heavy box, assembled it and put in on the pre-existing frame. They said it was easy to do but required strength to move. All the tools and screws they needed were included with the other hardware. Putting it together was pretty easy by myself, but I’d recommend having someone to help you as it can be tricky to move around especially in a tight space. I’ve slept on it for one night and it seems sturdy with little to no squeaks. I hope it stays a great product!

Not difficult to assemble but does require a little time . Cover is very cheap straps tore from frame when trying to get it on. Would probably buy another brand who offers a better cover .

    • High-Quality Box Springs at a Fraction of the Cost of Coil Springs

Traditional box springs have been marketed with such features as "individually wrapped coil springs" and other nice-sounding features that cost the consumer $1,000+ depending on the size of the mattress. These box springs are constructed from high-quality steel that has been CDC machined so that the powder-coated parts fit together perfectly. Although the unit requires assembly and comes with a small wrench and hex tool (and even extra nuts and bolts in case one or two are misplaced), assembly goes much faster with a socket wrench. The box springs are shipped in a double-wall cardboard box, and the main components (a frame comprised of sturdy bars that unfold and fit together perfectly) are encased in plastic. The relatively small box (under four feet high) is quite heavy, so a buyer with back problems or the like should plan on using a handcart to move the box into a garage workspace. Once assembled the unit can be carried fairly easily because the weight is evenly distributed. When the assembled box spring is placed on the slats in the frame of the bed, about twenty powder-coated bars are placed in slots, creating a solid frame for the mattress. When the mattress is in place, assuming that the mattress itself is in good condition, the bed feels exactly the same as if it had coil springs--but at roughly one-tenth of the price of name-brand coil springs. ... show more

    • Very sturdy frame
I'd say it's a good item. Sturdy and assembly was easy, just don't forget to put the support pieces in! After I put the mattress on and got the bed made did I see the pile of support slats (metal bars). Just an oversight on my part. I do wish there was a way to adjust the width, it does not sit inside the bed frame, rather it sits on top. Had to do some innovative anchoring so it didn't slide off the bed frame rail.
