This is such a great purchase to have either when traveling alone OR if living alone! I ended up purchasing a few for my home to use on all doors in the house. Very easy to use and the alarm is EXTREMELY LOUD which is perfect. What is also nice is that you can adjust the sensitivity to the alarm from high, medium to low. IF on low setting, the alarm will go off when a door is opened and fully over the door stopper. If on High setting, the alarm will go off if the slightest thing touches the door stopper. I also did a test with my husband to see how sturdy these are. If used on carpet, the door stopper can withhold the force of a grown man pushing on the door. The stopper has a nice grip at the bottom which is why it does well with carpet. Door stopper will slide if on tile or wood. Alarm noise is high pitched and loud so it definitely would scare off an intruder and easy to set up behind door. The stoppers don't work well and slide across hardwood floor easily when a door is opened. You have to jam it under the door to make sure it actually blocks the door from opening.

The size and style are ideal for traveling purpose; they're not huge. However, I never got to use them because the hotels I stayed in had good existing security and cameras. I've been the victim of a house robbery, but I didn't want to invest in a monthly pay-to-play solution. These little wonders make a lot of noise. I have two in front of each of my doors. The big issue is keeping track of changing the batteries so that the noise-makers will perform. I change my batteries every two months, just to be sure.
