  • Saves so much time changing threads.
This thing is absolutely the best addition to a single needle embroidery machine. Total game changer. So quick and easy to change threads. Very quick and simple to assemble. Nice weight that keeps it very stable. Very good quality with a very reasonable price. Every embroidery machine should have this thread stand right beside it. ... show more

  • Great Multi-Spool Thread Stand with Accessories and Instructions
This is a sturdy product and works exactly as described. Despite many previous reviews to the contrary, mine arrived with explicit instructions on how to put the product together, along with a description about what each part is designed to do. The photos showing each part (with part numbers and part names) were small, black and white, and certainly not "high definition", but they got the job done. I took my time, and everything went together perfectly. At the end of the instructions were descriptions on the purpose and use for each accessory. Each part and set of accessories was separated into plastic bags, and although the base had a small amount of loose sand in the bag, it was immaterial. The base itself is not leaking sand (which provides the weight to keep the stand from tipping over). The mast across the top will allow the threads to lay within each notch, and it would be better if the notches were not so wide, because the threads do tend to fall out. Among the dozens and dozens of accessories provided are six additional thread guides (2 of one kind; 4 of another), which help provide better tension and corral the thread better than the mast. I just completed a 15 thread embroidery, and was happy to have this thread stand to help organize all the colors. I will say that the footprint of the stand is quite large (16" wide x 6" deep; overall height of ~19") and I was not able to place it directly behind my embroidery machine due to my table only being 14" deep (embroidery machine takes up 12"). I was able to put the thread stand to the right of the machine and it worked fine. If you have a deeper sewing table, you'll have a much better layout to place the stand behind your machine where it will be more functional. It will also come apart if you'd like to put it away. There is only one part attached with a screw (the extendable mast pole screws into the bottom thread stand. But the rest will come apart easily, and the 14" pole can be telescoped down to about 5". I plan to keep mine together, and just place it on a top shelf when I'm not using it. All together, this is a great multi-spool thread stand! ... show more

  • Great thread holder but better usage directions are needed -especially for attachment parts
I purchased this because I was tired of having to switch out embroidery threads on my machine (I have a 6 thread holder that attaches to my MC15000 Quiltmaker). I love that I can set out all my threads and have them ready to go. HOWEVER the usage directions for how to thread and using the extra attachments is sadly lacking. I have pretty much just gone to try it this way, if it doesn't work, try it another way. There are several attachments that have flannel with what looks to be velcro inside. I believe this is to help stop twisting of the thread as it comes off a vertical spool of thread, but without instructions I am not sure if that is the case or even whether I place the thread through it before or after going through a thread guide. As I said, it has been hit and miss for me with this issue. There are a couple of youtube videos for similar products that have helped. (Metal spring at the top is to hold and cut threads, black pieces help to hold big spools in place-X goes on top and spool pushes down onto it) If you just place your spools onto the holder and place the thread through the loops at the top it does work but I would love to know what the extra pieces are specifically for and how to properly use them. If anyone out there actually has instructions on how to use the extra pieces I would love a copy or link to it. ... show more

  • Great value with quality design!
I love this thread stand! I plan to get another one just to store all of my other threads. It was missing two of the black pieces, and I’ve seen several others say the same thing. To me it’s not really that huge of a deal because I only have a single needle embroidery machine right now and I have to switch between each color anyways. Perhaps if I had a multi-needle it would be more important for me, but it’s not a huge deal to me. I was worried this would be flimsy because the price was so low, but it’s actually really sturdy feeling. I saw other reviews state they didn’t receive instructions and had to look at another brand to figure out assembly, but mine included instructions so as someone mentioned, I think it now includes them with all purchases. I highly recommend this thread stand! ... show more

  • Great inexpensive item that solved my problems!
I had a friend buy me a kit for embroidery when I was just starting out and it contained 100 Embroidex spools of thread. I did not know anything about embroidery or even what brand at the time. I kept having problems with the way the thread would feed. I eventually rigged the thread to go through a chop stick of all things taped to my embroidery machine to make it work. When I bought my second embroidery machine I had problems as well and finally figured out that it was the spools that the thread was on that was causing the problem. I could either get rid of the embroidery thread I still had of that brand or find a way to rig it so it would work. That is when I discovered this sthread stand. Since the day I have gotten it, It has made my life so much easier. No more threading problems, or breaking because the thread gets stuck under the spindle. So this has saved the day! The stand is lightweight, and looks exactly as it is shown. I did watch a video or two to make sure I was putting it together and using it correctly. It even makes it so that I can use the large spools that I have. It does not take up too much room and it can be moved if needed. You do not have to put it all the way together if you do not need the whole 20 at once. ... show more

  • Unable to assemble
I was so excited to set this thread stand up. After reading numerous reviews stating the difficulty of assembly I proceeded only to find the very first instruction does not include attaching the thread guide to the mast tip. Instructions begin with those pieces already attached. So as I began to attach the two pieces, the thread guide has a recessed threaded nut and the mast tip is not threaded. After much time searching for website to request just the extension rod, I finally gave up and requested a replacement from Amazon. I was also puzzled by the amount of sand in the bag containing the bottom piece. While putting it all back in the box I could hear what sounds like sand in the base of the piece. I assume sand is used as weight. Hopefully soon I can rate this for the usefulness of the product. ... show more

  • A must for machine embroidery
I already have a 10 Spool thread stand, but with 2 embroidery machines, I found the need for another. This 20 spool stand is comparable to the Brother brand that I have at a considerable savings. It was relatively easy to assemble. Mine was well package so I did not have any of the sand issues other reviewers had. My only confusing part was the thread guide on each level. The guide does go in the front of the stand and it is to be inserted right next to the #5 hole. That is for both levels. A little confusing. The spring/cutter thing on the top was more of a nuisance than a help to me. I do have a tip I picked up on Youtube. If you have mini clips, clip the end of your threads to the top of each thread slot on top. This really keeps the loose ends of all those threads from getting tangled up with each other. When you are ready to change color, slip the clip back down on the thread and then clip the thread under the clip. Pull the discarded thread tail back down through your machine. So much easier now. My only con is the instructions. There are some pieces to this stand that are a little confusing on how to use them. I will probably never need them and it is nice to have in case I find out how. There are no videos showing you how to use. It does include an attachment for lubricating your thread. Maybe that will be helpful with metallic threads. It would be nice if they had said something about this. ... show more
