I used to have a makeshift green screen stand that "did the job", however it was not very portable, and thus not very practical, in terms of setting up, breaking down, and traveling. Looking for a replacement, I came across this stand, which was exactly what I was looking for! Not only is it portable, but it is also adjustable! Meaning if you need to resize it to fit your needs, then you certainly can! Now, one thing to mention with a sturdy stand like this, is the weight was a tad heavier than I assumed it would be. But hey, this is quality, so it should be sturdy. Overall a great addition to my home studio, and im especially happy that I can break down my green screen now!

I use either a gray photo backdrop or a black one depending on the color of the item I'm shooting. The gray backdrop also doubles as a cover over the storage area and hence is on a retractable roller as a permanent installation. So I needed a reliable way to hold up the black backdrop when needed. The EMART backdrop stand is very reasonably priced, so I was expecting adequate quality but I didn't think it was going to stop the presses or anything. Now that you have the backstory, what do I really think? The good: The quality of this item significantly surpasses what one would expect. The legs are of a fairly heavy gauge steel and the cross-arm has a solid fit onto the posts. The movement of the parts presents a smooth motion with very a solid lock into place. That is not to say that there's a "click" into place or anything like that, but tightening the adjustment knobs presents a satisfying and solid tightening - and once tightened the pieces are quite secure. The stand itself is a good value, but it doesn't stop there. This kit also arrives with two heavy polyester weight bags. These have and internal lining or membrane that seals the pockets, and even those are secured with a double zipper system. It appears that these are intended to hold the assembly down in light breezes. As this is sized to hold nearly 60 sq. ft. of backdrop, virtually nothing would sufficient to hold back the overall assembly in even a light wind. Still, the added sandbags are a very nice add. Finally, this kit comes with a carrying case that is made from a fairly heavy-gauge, canvas-like fabric. What could be better: There is not much in this category, but one thing that does come to mind: the product finish. The finish itself is great - but the provided carrying bag will allow the pieces to bang together while being carried, which would eventually mar the nice finish. The fix for this: keep the plastic bags that the parts shipped in - these will provide some protection of the finish. Just something to consider: the weight bags are made from a fabric that can cast a bit of sheen under photo lighting. Not a show-stopper, but one should be aware and adjust accordingly. Bottom line: I would buy this again. It is easy to transport, easy to set up, and does the job well. And it comes with some nice little extras that one would normally have to buy separately. 5 stars.
