  • Great light box!!
This is good product for what it is including the price point (when it's on sale). It's a little wider and taller than other light boxes. Keep in mind, there's no diffuser on the LEDs, so shinier or more reflective items will show the reflection of the LEDs or even the inside of the light box itself. The temperature or the color (pure white to amber) of the LEDs is not adjustable but it's not a dealbreaker for me as the purpose of the product was geared more towards being able to document items you're trying to sell online. White is the only backdrop color although you could probably DIY it to place other colored backdrops instead. It works pretty well for most items not larger than a basketball if you care about having an unobstructed background. Setup is relatively easy and there's multiple flaps and even an overhead port for you to take pictures at different angles. The overall weight isn't too heavy and is easy to transport or store once folded up. Recommended. ... show more

  • Compact, Large, Built in Lighting, Portable, Easy to Use and takes GREAT Pictures...what else can you ask for.
WOW! There are quite a few possibilities with this Portable Photo Studio. The fact that it is self contained, compact and large was the selling point for me. Yes, there are other units on the market for half the price but the versatility this unit offers simply in my book doesn't stands out among the others. It is easy to set-up. You don't even have to read the instructions, that is how easy it is to use. All the pieces fold in and the unit itself compacts like a folded in half folding table with a handle. It takes 2-3 minutes to set-up and 2-3 minutes to tear down and put away. You can shoot from the top (1 slot), front (3 slots positions) and from the entire front for large items. A medium size duffle bag can fit in this, so its pretty large. The backdrop that is velcro to the top had a crease in it when I got it (as you will see in the pictures), but that is easily fixable so wasn't a deal breaker for me. Worst case you can put your own background. The way the background folds in half and velcro to the top of the unit when you pack it up, there will always be a crease it seems at the half way mark. Mine when I got it, it was not folded in half, it was actually folded weird which made for an incorrect diagonal line crease. I am just going to steam it out. The product overall is durable and not flimsy. The unit comes with built in lights so it is part of the unit, not sure if those can be replaced or not. The lighting itself is more than adequate for photo shots. You have the option of plugging in the unit or not so you can use your own or natural light if you choose to. This only comes with one background (white). You can certainly use different backgrounds of your own choice. I shot a Pepsi can at two distances with a DSLR Nikon D90 for comparison. I also shot an iPad with the screen on (disclaimer: the iPad has a glass screen protector) and I shot if from the top of the unit so you can see the glare of the lighting system of the unit, BUT when I shot it from the front I got no glare. I also shot a solid gold award statute and it came out great, a whole lot better than other settings and in natural light so no complaints there. Yes, I saw some reflection in it as it was solid gold which is reflective in nature, but it wasn't like other shots where it picked up everything and anything so I was totally happy. The rest of the pictures just shows you how to fold and pack it up...again really easy. Now, some pictures of the unit was taken when the lights were off already and it was being packed up. The power cord and instructions have a built in zipped pocket for easy storage as well. 13 Pictures are included. ... show more

  • Great size; super easy setup and takedown
I’d previously bought a similar-sized light box that required a lot of set up with poles and extra parts and then you pretty much had to leave it set up, which was not ideal in my small space. I saw this and ordered it, and I am so glad I did. It was so easy to set up; you basically just open it lol. And if you pay attention to what it’s doing as you’re opening it, then taking it back down is very easy too (you have to pull up on one panel to make it collapse). The interior lights up beautifully without me having to fiddle with anything. The only thing I had to look in the manual for was where to actually plug in the lights. I only have my iPhone for photos and this works perfectly for that. And I don’t have to leave it set up! Absolutely worth every penny. ... show more

  • Good product, but...
Easy to set up and fold down to store. I was able to set it up on top of my jewelry-making supply cabinet, and since I didn't need to rig up lights, etc. it enables me to have a portable product photo studio in one relatively small corner of my workshop. I can't emphasize enough how helpful that is. Now with the cons: it has one light strip across the front ceiling and one along the left side. I read a lot of reviews about this product that mention this and the fact that one side of the box is always in shadow. It's true, and I've tried every camera setting I know of to counter that, even used photo-enhancing software, but nothing ever really works 100%. I purchased a Trekoo 2 LED Light strip set to compensate. Amazon sells them for $15.99, and I highly recommend you just go ahead and buy it at the same time you buy this lightbox. It's basically two LED light strips with a connecting cord between them, and then USB connector cables at one end for a power source. They have peel & stick backs, so I just placed them side by side in the exact spot the light strip on the opposite side is located. I ran the cord through the opening in the top of the box, and sat a power strip with 3 USB ports on top of the box. This also enables me to keep the lightbox plugged in at all times (it has no on/off switch) and I can now turn the lightbox on & off using the on/off switch located on the power strip. I have only taken a few test photos with the addition of the new LED light strip, but so far, I really like what I see. I am photographing jewelry, which can be very tricky unless you have really good lighting, and this seems to be a good solution thus far. Yes, I have the same issue with the crease in the backdrop, but I am shooting in macro from directly overhead, and it really isn't that much of an issue for me. I would recommend possibly taking it out and seeing if it could be smoothed out by hanging it up and *lightly* warming it with a heat gun. The backdrop material is like a heavy blackout vinyl window shade though, so direct heat would obviously be a bad idea. You can however, hang a nylon backdrop over it to cover the crease. I have not had any problems with the box collapsing, etc. and I have been using it for a year, and do occasionally lay lightweight items on top of it. Overall, I would say it's a good product, but it could use an extra built in light on the unlit side, an on/off switch so you don't have to unplug it to turn it off, and a better pack & ship solution for the backdrop that eliminates the inevitable crease. ... show more
