  • So easy
I tried a haaka with my first child and even if I could get the suction right, the moment I moved (let alone the moment she moved) it lost suction. I could never get more than a half ounce. It took a few tries to master but I'm able to attach the Curve with one hand - it helps that I can suction it on and then adjust my nursing bra. This is perfect for midnight nursings for me - the baby usually only takes one side per session and I can get almost a full pumping amount on the left over side if I use the Curve. I'm not a fan of pumping both sides at the same time, I find it really uncomfortable. Again I can stick this on the side I'm not pumping and get almost a full pump sessions worth. If I really want to drain that side, I'll just pump for five minutes at the end of the session. Granted I've maxed out at about 4.5 ounces a side. So if you regularly pump more than that it might not have the capacity you need. The little valve can be challenging when you pour out the milk - until you get the hang of it. Cleaning is pretty easy if you have a bottle brush. ... show more

  • Elvie Curve VS Haakaa Ladybug
This product worked very well for me. I’m larger chested and I found it fit into my bra easily and maintained suction well and did a great job easing pressure inbetween pumps. I put off buying this for a while because I had the haakaa ladybugs which are a similar product and about half the price. I didn’t see the point in spending more money to buy a product similar to one I already had. However, I’m going back to work at a busy job where I work 12+ hour shifts and needed a better option to help ease pressure inbetween pumping if I can’t pump as often as I normally would and in my desperation I decided to splurge and give this one a shot to see if it might give me a better option than the ladybugs. So far, there are definitely some key differences. Pros: I feel the curve overall works better than the lady bugs for helping drain and keep off pressure inbetween feeds/pumps and will allow me to go longer than the ladybugs before having to do a full pump/feed. I feel like this has a stronger, more consistent suction than the ladybugs. Another pro is it fits better in my bra, and is easy for me to adjust the suction without having to take off my shirt and actually see the product. Cons: it’s more expensive and harder to clean and collect milk from. To combat the milk collection problem I just place the container I’m pouring into in a bowl so if there’s any spillage I can still collect it, but I’ve gotten better with practice at not spilling. Overall, I do think this is the better product for helping ease pressure and collecting milk inbetween feeds/pumping, especially if you are in a place where you may have to extend the time inbetween pumping seasons, but it is quite a bit more expensive and the ladybugs may not help as much, but can help in a pinch if this model is too pricey, however, would recommend the splurge on this one if you can. It was definitely worth it to me! ... show more

  • Terrible suction, detaches consistently
Absolutely awful device. Suction fails constantly and spills milk everywhere when it does. We threw ours away. There are other much better collectors.

  • Amazing but one I ordered was defective
These are amazing! Easy to use: align breast with hold and press on the front to create suction. I use it in the morning when I am overfull so I don’t leak from the other side while my babies nursing. The first one I ordered stopped working so I bought another and have not had any issues. The sale is perfect to slip into a bra or even braless. I just make sure it’s supported by my baby or nursing pillow. If you’re moving around you’ll need a camisole or bra on, it has great suction but not enough to fight gravity. Works best when you’re full and sometimes I’ve filled the whole thing. Using the milk to fill little tray molds for boobsicles (I can’t remember what they’re actually called but that’s what we call them hah) ... show more

  • Just what I needed
I wish I would have known this style collection cup existed before buying a Medela hand pump for basically the same purpose. I’m on my third baby and I’ve had a Haakaa collection cup before and hated it (the kind that has the bottle-shaped bottom) - it never stayed on properly and always spilled all over when removing it. The Curve is amazing. It’s two pieces, and minimal parts to disassemble is a huge plus, easy to clean and so simple to use. While I definitely wouldn’t say it’s discreet or invisible (wouldn’t wear it out on errands), it is so nice to just pop it on inside a bra, push once or twice on the front for suction and forget about while nursing on the other side. With no effort and about 15 minutes, I’m collecting 1.5-2 oz, which won’t fill up the newborn for a feeding, but is great for mixing in Vitamins D drops. I hate pumping, this doesn’t hurt and takes almost zero work, and collects what would otherwise just be leaking into my shirt. Only sorry I didn’t know about it/have it sooner, 10/10 would recommend for passive collection. ... show more
