I've never had a top-of-the-line laptop. Never saw the point with their limited upgrade path and kneecapped performance. But with my gaming habits moving to the living room lately, I figured should buy a nice laptop instead of building a new PC. I had never heard of Eluktronics, and tbh the name sounds like a rando fly-by-night amazon brand, but I was happy to find they were a domestic company. That's cool. And the more research I did the more confident I was in picking them. I purchased a white i9-13900hx with a RTX 4080 w/the water cooler. It was on sale for ~$2400, which was a good deal at the time for similar specced laptops. The RAM and storage options were expensive for my cheap-a$$ brain, though. I selected the single-channel 16GB and 512 GB m.2 options. There were good m.2 and sodimm deals on Amazon at the time so I paid about half of what Eluktronics was charging for the same upgrade. But that's normal with pre-builds in general, and don't mind some tinkering. After I tested the laptop out of the box, adding memory & storage was one of the easier laptop upgrades I've done. At first glance, the laptop is kind of generic looking, but the moment you pick it up you realize it's VERY substantial. The chassis is firm, cool metal. I don't know if that helps in component cooling, but I don't even use a laptop fan. My wife's 10th gen i7/GTX1660 ti MSI laptop get SUPER hot. I use a lap desk and if have the area clear around me, it doesn't get anywhere near as hot as the MSI laptop (which is incredible given the specs). After like 6 months I haven't even tried the water cooler yet - the internal cooling solution is THAT good :) The performance is top shelf, like I would expect that that price point. It's a satisfying upgrade from my RTX 2070s PC. My only gripe is that it takes oddly long to start up. And sometimes I can't quite tell if it's starting or not. The Monitor is beautiful tho - high refresh rate IPS just looks really nice. I cranked Cyberpunk up to ultra in the native 2k display and everything looks great. Even with ray tracing it still looked pretty good.. Clean windows install with no bloatware, just Eluk's simple and effective RGB/overclocking utility. But I absolutely hate that Windows 11 makes you jump through so many hoops to start up. That was an ordeal - but not a reflection of the build/performance (which is what ultimately matters). If and when we upgrade my wife's laptop, I'll probably go for another Eluktronics. Very happy with this first purchase. ... show more

Update: the LPP G2 (external liquid cooling) system is amazing! I've been doing some burn-in tests to confirm system stability and these are my findings. GPU burn in test: with laptop air cooling only, the GPU temp settled in at a consistent 81°C and laptop fans running constantly at 100%. The fans are rather noisy at 100% which is to be expected but keeping a constant 81°C on air cooling during a GPU max load stress test is pretty impressive. GPU burn-in test: with LPP connected and running, the GPU temperature settled into a consistent 60°C and laptop fans at 55-57%. The performance of the LPP liquid cooling is phenomenal! That is amazing thermal control for a max load GPU stress test. CPU thermal control saw similar differences between air only and LPP cooling. CPU stress test with air only cooling settled into 95°C with laptop fans at a constant 100%. With LPP running it settled into 94°C with laptop fans at a constant 70%. The CPU cooling is not as dramatic as the GPU cooling when using LPP BUT it works well enough to offer consisten max performance without the laptop fans staying spun up to 100%. That is really good for a laptop with this hardware! Mixed mode CPU and GPU burn-in test: with LPP running GPU settled to a consistent 63°C and the CPU a consistent 94°C with laptop fans at a constant 70%. For a laptop running an i9-13900HX and RTX 4090 laptop gpu, this is extremely good thermal control and performance. Not that all of these numbers are while running extreme scenario max load burn-in/stress tests. Normal gaming or workstation/content creator tasks are unlikely to see such stressful loads except in rare occasions. This laptop with the LPP G2 external liquid cooling gets an A++ rating from me! Highly recommended. Price: I got the 2TB/64GB RTX 4090 model on a holiday sale. The regular price isn't too bad either considering the specs. The top tier configuration gets you a lot of hardware for quite a bit less than the mainstream competition when speced the same. Build: premium. I have nothing bad to say about fit and finish. It looks, feels, and operates like a premium product but without all the obvious flash and bling. There is edge effect and keyboard RGB lighting that can be customized easily. However, because the laptop is an inconspicuous gaming laptop, when the RGB lighting is disabled, no one would know that it is a gaming laptop. Stealth gamer I think it's called by the brand. Performance: top tier performance second to nothing really. Any gaming laptop more powerful at this point in time would likely net you negligible FPS differences. The 2TB/64GB RTX 4090 model is a beast of a laptop and is suitable for intense work/productivity tasks as well as gaming tasks. I use this laptop for my business and it handles everything and then some. Liquid Propulsion Package Gen 2 (LPP G2): this is an interesting and practical perk included with the top tier model I am reviewing. I think it comes with lower tiers too. I say practical because it is not a gimmick and adds actual measurable value. When the laptop is docked on a desk the LPP G2 provides hasle-free liquid cooling to both the CPU and GPU. When the system is under heavy load I notice a drop in temperature of more than 15° Celsius, usually about 20°. That feature is hugely beneficial to both gamers and professionals doing CPU or GPU intense tasks like transcoding, large sdev build tasks, 3D rendering, and the list goes on. With the LPP G2 attached and running, I can let compute intense tasks run without worry of heat throttling. Which for me translates to measurable time saved on work tasks or personal tasks such as PixInsight astrophotography stacking and processing. Bloat-Ware: there is none!! Seriously! A clean OS install with all hardware drivers and one configuration utility for managing hardware features such as RGB lighting, LPP, and operating modes. No garbage software bloating up your system and hogging resources. Even Alienware comes loaded with lots of useless bloat-ware. This system does not! Wonderful! Truly a gem among titans. Conclusion: highly recommend this brand and this laptop. Personally I think the model with the largest value is the top tier configuration reviewed here. ... show more

Update: do not buy from Eluktronics. I was shipped this unit with faulty RAM. I even proved it with the tool their support department sent me. It has been weeks and weeks now and still no replacement. I had to buy replacement ram myself. There are so many other options out there for high end laptops -- don't bother with this. I'll leave my original review up, but keep this update in mind: Original review: If you can get this for around $2000, it is a great value for the price. I thought the liquid cooling accessory was goofy at first, but it is actually very easy to set up, is quiet [edit: it is no longer quiet; it gets pretty noisy, like a fish tank pump], and keeps the laptop very cool. I have noticed no build quality issues with the laptop so far, except for one very stuck screw. I had a very hard time opening it up to get a second m.2 storage in there. The 2560x1600 screen is very very nice. The keyboard feels fine to me, but if you are picky, you might consider the other Eluktronics model line with the mechanical keyboard. It is MUCH more expensive, though. If you are just looking for performance components in a no-nonsense case, this laptop is a great choice. ... show more

    • Laptop had faulty RAM
It’s a great laptop, with very fast performance for a reasonable price. Unfortunately within a week of arrival my laptop started repeatedly hard crashing while playing various video games. I sent my laptop in for repair and got it back within a week. It’s been working fine since then.
