I have put every kind of food in these containers and I have no stains or smells! I’ve put them in the microwave, dishwasher (top shelf), and oven and they’re still like new. I have used various sizes of these containers over the past few years within my fridge and freezer. I have not had one break, chip or crack. The silicone has stayed the same and the lids are in perfect condition and still seal like a suction cup. I use these for all of my food prep needs and they have traveled with me to various states. I love these storage containers for packing a lunch for work. They are easy to store stacked in the fridge and work great in the microwave. The lids seal tightly and are relatively easy to close. The only problem I have is the rubber bottoms that come on them. They are actually a pain the have to remove for cleaning and I don’t see why they are needed so I don’t actually use them. ... show more

    • Love these, not easiest to clean

I've had my first batch for 2 years now, 2 of them still brand new with plastic. They are really good quality, the lids have no broken off from any of them and the rubbers are all still intact. They hold a good amount of food, and the lids/rubber gaskets provide a nice tight seal with good leak proofing. I've also dropped one a few times and still no chipping thanks to the rubber sleeve that they come with. I honestly LOVE these, and I think they're very much worth it if you want a glass container set to take your food to work. Only downside I had was the weight, I carry a 52L water bottle and 2 meals + 1 snack to work for my 10-14 hour days, and that put a lot of weight on my backpack. The lids are also a bit annoying to clean because of the rubber gasket, they can get a bit dirty so you may want to remove the gasket trim to clean it better which can be time consuming, also the gaskets can get stretched making them harder to keep on the lid with time. I have 1 of the 4 containers from 2022 with this gasket issue, but the rest are perfectly fine. ... show more

To begin with, this will not be the most objective review in the world. I seek out ello products because I love them and this was not an exception. I hate using plastic to store my leftovers. It stains. It feels greasy forever. It never feels like it's clean. I'm scared to microwave them because of some plastic chemical reaction thing that I'm not even sure is a real thing. I use the dishwasher for everything. So I use glass. I consider glass containers to be an investment, and I have tried a lot of them. The classic pyrex with its rubbery lid: great for storing leftovers in the fridge, but not so much for taking them to work - the lid pops off as soon as the container becomes anything but upright. Lids warp in dishwasher. The anchor version of pyrex: same. I'm also moderate amounts of clumsy, so the fact that it would take one accidental drop to the floor and my lunch would be completely shattered was enough for me to reconsider. (note: I have dropped numerous pyrex and anchor dishes without shatter) Enter ello. Locking lids. Glass container. Microwave, oven, dishwasher safe. Silicone cage to help with drops. Did I mention beautiful colors? Because beautiful colors. I've washed these multiple times, microwaved and baked with them, forgotten tomato based leftovers in them for undisclosed and unknown amounts of time. They've been found in the darkest recesses of the fridge. And they're still beautiful. They're still unstained. They don't have a funny smell (after dishwashing, of course). And I don't have to worry about contracting some possibly serious illness from microwaving plastic. Win, win, win, win. Buy them. Love them. ... show more

These containers are excellent and very useful. Definitely leakproof. I am also writing a review (which I never do) because the customer service of this company is incredible. I noticed two of the containers I had wouldn’t latch properly on one side, so I decided to contact the company. Within an hour (or much less) someone got in touch and notified me they are sending me two replacement containers. Same size but different colors since that’s what they had in stock direct from the company. I got those within a couple of weeks. I really appreciate a company willing to work with customers. Even the containers that don’t latch properly have a really good seal and the lid stays on with 3 of the 4 latches engaged. My meals stay fresh until I am ready to consume them. ... show more

I had some glass storage containers from Costco that I wanted to add to and purchased these containers. They are shorter than my Costco ones and hold less altogether. The silicone on the outside is nice, especially when reheating and although it slips around it hasn't fallen off yet. One of the clips on the lids fell off and could not be re-attached but we haven't had a problem clipping the lid securely with 4 sides.
