LOVE this bread maker! I’m a novice bread maker but this is so incredibly easy! First loaf was regular white bread (2 lb), light crust; second is ‘cake’ recipe in manual but it’s really banana bread; medium darkness on crust. Both turned out AMAZING! Fun and easy to use! Bread is more dense than store bought. While I’d highly recommend (I also bought one for my friend who also loves it), some important pieces of advice: 1. READ the manual (multiple times)! There is important info about types of flour, water (distilled), temp of ingredients, dry/liquid substitutions and conversions, measurements etc. Trust me, THIS is a users manual you need to read! 2. Follow instructions EXACTLY. No eyeballing ingredients and MUST be in order of recipe. Especially if you’re new to baking. 3. Bread tends to be more dense and may be more bland than you’re used to if you’ve only eaten store bread. Store bread is LOADED w sugar, salt, and preservatives. So don’t be discouraged w taste. After a few tries, you can add a little more sugar or salt to your tastes. 4. While ok to briefly open lid in beginning (while mixing/kneading), do NOT open during leavening and rising. Could fall/collapse if you do. But you should check while mixing and flick any dough stuck to the sides w a silicone spatula. 5. NO exceptions on ensuring ingredients room temperature (again, read and follow manual) 6. Kneading paddle will leave hole in bottom of loaf. No way to avoid but no big deal. After done, soak pan in warm water as it tends to stick after baking of course. But only bc bread bakes it to stick. No big deal. Once soaked, loosens and pulls out. But the loaf itself pops right out after done w the non stick (PFAS FREE!) coating. 7. Buttons are super sensitive. If accidentally start before all ingredients added, turn off immediately holding down start button then go back to recipe number. There’s a few more lessons but the above are basic and most important. Overall product it great! It’s not silent while mixing & kneading. But not so loud it’s annoying. I owned for 17 years the bread machine that everybody totes as the best the best, you know the one that starts with the letter Z??!! I'm probably the first in history that's going to say I had nothing but problems with it and I had the top of the line one. First of all the bread pan coating peels within 7 to 8 months of consistent use and the paddles do the same oh and let me mention to replace the bread pan it's close to $90 and the paddles well you can guess that price is up there as well. I didn't want to spend after the machine finally went out that kind of money again. I just didn't see the purpose of it, especially I like to take my dough out shape it and work it the way I want, I don't like the crust that bread machines create when baked inside of them. I just had a good feeling about this elite gourmet machine and I thought let me give it a shot and boy am I impressed! I don't know what it is, it brings out such a beautiful tasting and flaky crust and texture, just amazing I can't even explain it! Although, I like to take the dough out and not have it baked inside a bread machine I did bake a few loaves in the elite gourmet and they came out really well. This machine outshines when using just the dough setting. I felt that Z machine that everybody totes is the best over kneaded the dough to the point it fermented it and made it very yeasty and dense tasting and this elite gourmet does not do that! I will say one caveat to this machine is do not overload it, it does its best with smaller amounts of flour in my experience I feel no more than four cups and that's pushing it. For the money I can get six of these for the price of one of those others. LOL I think for me more than having the best the best that the industry puts down your throat is how does it make your bread taste is your bread fluffy and squishy and have that nice creamy taste not yeasty fermented taste then this machine is for you! I use the exact same recipe in both brands of machines and believe it or not both loaves tasted and texture was completely different. I can be very fair here in my review since I owned the other one for 17 years and actually repurchased a new one and was very unhappy and returned it and actually bought a second one of the Elite Gourmet for backup. It's a little noisy compared to the other one I'm talking about, this one is nice and light has suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't jiggle around, it's so easy to set. I'm literally in love with this machine and financially wise I could do any of them and this one won me over! I did get the mint color, so much prettier in person and how cute they put a fork and spoon inside their leaf logo just a little detail that makes it not like any of the others. I've never seen a company put more effort into the packaging the plastic the cardboard so the machine arrives to you in perfect condition, no scratches no dents just a company that really takes its time to put that attention to detail! ... show more

Okay exactly as described. Unit ships in manufacturer's box showing contents in the box. Don't let Amazon hide contents because Amazon's packaging is very poor compared to manufacturer's shipping... so at checkout do not click the box which says "hide packaging content" or something similar to that. This machine arrived in good condition and works exactly as described. Baked my first loaf with it and it turned out way better than my expectations. Bread is supposed to taste this way. Fresh and oh the aroma all over the house is amazing. Read that manual through and through. Follow the recipes as shown and you won't run into any issues with the outcome. Before use, do exactly what the manual says to prep this amazing bread machine. Yes, I ate the entire crunchy and tasty whole wheat loaf I made today. First time bread baking for me and the result was simply amazing. Bread was fluffy soft on the inside hard crust on the outside and oh... this is what bread was meant to be.
