First let me say this thing is tiny!! Be sure you pay attention to the dimensions before purchasing. The build/design is awesome though. It does a great job dehydrating. It has a very similar air flow to the Excalibur (I have the 9 tray Excalibur - overkill for small jobs.) This little guy has setting to 158°F (Shame they did not go to 165° to be more versatile!) It is very accurate in temperatures as measured by a calibrated thermometer. This little guy DOES hit its advertised temperature range very accurately, all the way up to 158°F. (most don't so this is impressive! - for the record Excalibur is known for its accurate temps up to 165°F which is one of the reasons Excalibur is so highly rated-and thus expensive.) This thing is the perfect size for small batches. The Excalibur is NOT designed for small batches so this is a perfect add at a great price for the quality. - just putting the thing in the same sentence and having a positive comment against the Excalibur says a lot. Update 27 Oct 2025 I can fully recommend this thing - NO reservations. I have used this thing a lot since buying it with obsoletely no issues. It is durable. When I bought it, I did feel it was a bit expensive. No, it's priced exactly right given the quality of it.

I am so surprised how awesome this little affordable dehydrator is. I’ve been able to use it for absolutely everything, from drying gourmet mushrooms for later cooking, fresh cut herbs and medicinals from the garden, as well as making my own “sun dried” heirloom tomatoes! It’s nothing fancy, very compact, and works really well. Great bargain and I’ve put it through a ton of cooking and it’s still like new

Actual dehydrator works well. Knocking 1 start because one tray was damaged upon arrival. Contavted manufacturer, they wouldnt give me a new tray, even if I paid for the replacement, but did offer to take it as a return for refund. Since it works well I decided to keep it instead of sending it to a landfill. So now I have a dehydrator with one less tray, but it works fine. All in all it works well, just had that one minor issue which does not affect function. Would still recommend to a friend, but wish I could order a new tray.

So while picking out dehydrators I decided I wanted one with metal trays and possibly components. See I know from experience that plastic gets brittle when you subject it to heat, and had read complaints about trays breaking on Every Single dehydrator. I found this one and I’m so glad I did, it’s All metal inside and out, which honestly is pretty amazing, no VOCs or other contaminate worrry, and no worry about any parts breaking with wear/age. It fits A Lot. Yes it is a smaller dehydrator, but one tray can fit 1 1/2-2 bananas for banana chips, this tiny machine can dehydrate a whole 6-8 bunch of bananas in one go! I love that it’s small, I can tuck it away in the cabinet when I need to, and unless you’re creating like Batches of something this is the size any normal person would want and be happy with. Adjustable temp allows me to dial in the drying time, and the outside of the machine stays remarkably not hot. Really surprised me. For the price, quality, the metal trays and body, this right here can’t be beat. If you’re looking/comparing dehydrators you can put away your notes and just get this one, I did all the homework and it truly is the best deal, will last the longest, has the most customizations, perfect little machine for all your dehydrating needs!!

I love this dehydrator. The temp control is great for a variety of different items and its so quiet. It is easy to put together and clean when done being used. It dries food out very well with plenty of control over temperature. Very good quality for an affordable price.

If I could give it negative 1 star I would. Stopped working after 2 hours of use and unit wouldn't turn back on. Apparently a know issue after reading reviews from other sources. Also, much smaller than we thought it would be and didn't really like the square design. Returned and went with a different model.

I bought a spinning one with five layers, and it was round. I bought it used maybe 12 years ago, and it's been busted and can't spin for the last 2 years because a bad kid decided to play with it! Since it took longer, like 12 hours to 14 hours to do the five rows of beef jerky, I chose to buy this digital one. I'm not sorry, wish I had bought it sooner. It's fantastic! I put it for 8 hours, and the top two rows and the very bottom row got heat first and finished first, so I moved around the other two. It still took about 9 hours to do all five racks, but I got a lot of beef jerky out of it. It took as little as just over 3 hours to cook the first row, which is crazy because my last one took a minimum of 6 hours. I love this thing, even though I've only used it once. Once you take the top off, even if you're just looking at the meat, it pauses the operation. Once you put it back on, it starts again immediately from where it left off. It's not very hot, but warm enough at 158°, which is perfect for creating jerky that's not too dry. It's very compact and I actually used it in my bedroom while I slept, so I didn't have to keep going down to the kitchen to check on the meat. It's not loud at all, although at times when it was first going it made some high-pitched sounds, but afterward, it was very quiet. My room smelled like beef jerky, but I could think of worse things for it to smell like! LOL. The racks are also easier to clean and are dishwasher safe, and they can fit in the standard sink, something my last one couldn't do because it was round and oversized. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves beef jerky as much as I do because it makes it quickly, especially the very thick pieces, which is what I use, cubed beef.
