I care very much that they designed this model with BPA-Free Stainless Steel racks which were very easy to hand clean with a non-abrasive sponge, the Adjustable Timer was set and it has a wonderful shut itself off feature when done.. this product really is well worth the money I paid. Maxi-Matic support team is really wonderful when you need help, they are respectful and care a great deal about customer service. The unit is very quiet.     • Why didn't I get one sooner?

I am in love with this thing. It's pretty much been running since I bought it. It's easy to operate and has multiple temperature settings (135-160 F). Timer can be adjusted in 30 minute intervals and can even be adjusted while the unit is running to add more time. Shelves are metal. A quick run through a dish washer is all that is needed when you are done drying sticky items like sliced berries. My only wish was that it came with more of the fine mesh that sits on top of the metal rack (for small items) and at least 1 other fruit leather tray. So far we dried: fruits: bananas, apples, strawberries, raspberries, oranges fruit leathers: apple, apple mango, apples apricot, apple strawberry veggies: sweet bell peppers, carrots, onions, celery ... show more

I had a hard time selected a dehydrator. I have used the Excalibur that I borrowed from a friend and loved it but it was not in my budget at this time. The friend I borrowed it from told me "Buy once, cry once" but I still could not afford it at this time. So I tried to find one that felt good at a lower price point. It was important to me that I find one with stainless steel shelves and a window. This one had no reviews at the time I purchased it so it was a gamble. It arrived in great condition and I put it to use right away. It has work great and is quieter that the others that I have used. I love that the door opens out like a microwave and the shelves are all horizontal. The jerky came out perfect!! The only problem that I came across was the door would not stay latched. You have to lift it up a smidge but that may just be this one. The jerky came out tasting wonderful. Would definitely buy again! ... show more

This dehydrator is easy to use! It works really well. You can only set the temp in increments of 5, if this isn’t precise enough for you then you are way more picky than I am.. I have found that it takes a lot longer time than what they suggest in the manual. It doesn’t get very hot (I can touch the sides and back without being burned) but the bottom did make the counter pretty warm. We set ours on a upside down metal pan to be safe. I like how it has the metal wire rack and not the plastic trays like many dehydrators have. Overall a great product! ... show more

As the title says, it's does what it's supposed to do. Easy to operate and clean. I had to Google what is the difference between a Food Dehydrator and an oven and basically there are 2 things...1. You save space and time from your ove and 2. It's more energy efficient than your oven. So if those 2 things are important to you, it's worth it. I bought it to make jerky meat for my dogs. It took a long time to dry out the Bacon but they loved it when it was done! ... show more

This dehydrator is very quiet and made apple chips and yogurt bites very easily. The only thing I don’t like is the ear piercing sound the buttons make when you’re adjusting the settings. Other than that, it’s perfect for the price I got it at and exceeded my expectations.

I like this unit. It's lightweight yet sturdy, quiet, stainless steel shelves are easy to clean and I believe a lot more durable than plastic. It's paying for itself quickly in healthy one ingredient - easy to make and store - dog treats.
