I tend to always buy non Elgato products first and then upgrade into them. and this like every other product I have done that with is an obvious quality upgrade! With better quality and materials its obvious why I would want it. But this does have some shortcomings specifically that it does not come with mounting hardware and that it is short requiring you to purchase other products to get the same use you would get from a cheaper model. Pros: Very sturdy! (its metal) Small adjustments are possible where with the budget models you could only do large. The rang of motion and ease of adjustments has blown my mind. they hold my gopro hero 10, and Sony 6300 perfectly. They also hold Elgato key light air well. (ill be buying a few more to add this and open up space on my desk) You are able to buy more arms that fit with this allowing for more customization. (this is also a downside as its needed) Cons: It did not come with mounting hardware. (this seams silly to me as it a quality product.) The length of the arms included with the basic package is less then i would expect. Especially after getting much more from cheaper products. (you can buy arms that attach and allow better customization though.) Overall this a product I am very happy with. But for me at least you need to purchase more products to make it the upgrade it truly is. So if you are trying to be budget friendly i would recommend going cheaper but if you are looking for a great product that will last i recommend this plus an elgato flex arm. ... show more

The extremely durable wall mount from Elgato allows us to mount live stream cameras on the walls of our church without having to use tripods, which can be tripping hazards. The wall mounts allow you to position the mounted camera in many different angles to suit your needs. The 1/4 thread was the perfect size to fit most standard-size camera sockets - no modifications required. When you have a full blown studio with cameras and lighting, you need to sometimes keep things off the desk and ground. These mounts are amazing for keeping things on the wall and in a spot that is out of the way...but also easy to adjust. I have purchased 4 of these overall, and about to buy a few more for a sound booth upgrade. They can hold microphones and cameras, but also are great for holding key lights mounted to the ceiling. I used this Elgato mount to install my Nebula Cosmos 4K projector. It is not rated to handle the weight in a wall-mount configuration (cantilevered off the wall). But, it is a sturdy mount and I am confident it will handle the projector weight hanging. I was able to sink 4 mounting screws into a stud (angling the screws slightly). I love this mount and it stays in place very well since I use my mirrorless camera for everyday shoots too. I am able to just throw it on the mount and it’s already set in the right position for stream. Also it has allowed me to get a camera angle that would have been impossible with a normal tripod.
