  • Extremely happy with this scooter
I bought this scooter several months ago in anticipation of foot surgery. I needed something that would not only get me around in the house but also get me back and forth to my barn to care for my horse. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver inside. It is well made and my son had no trouble putting it together. It's not the easiest to maneuver on grass or gravel but with practice, it's not too bad. I don't think any scooter of this type would do any better though. I have found that by putting my knee toward the back of the knee pad, and just taking my time, it is easier to get through grass and gravel. I don't believe any scooter like this has the ability to travel smoothly over rough terrain, but this one comes close. I've had no worries about tipping over at all. The bag in the front is awesome. I use it to transport ice bags, snacks, phone, books, etc. and it has a side pouch for liquids. It does fold down somewhat to put inside a vehicle and because it is so lightweight, I have no trouble doing that, and I'm pushing 70. The brakes work great but I have not needed to use them. I would definitely purchase another one of these if needed. ... show more

  • Much better than my walker.
I get gout flareups here and there. This makes navigating my home so much easier and kind of fun as opposed to the much bulkier walker I was use before. PROS I can zoom around the house and do what I need to with ease. I can stay completely off my bad foot the whole time. Breaks are nice and tight. Makes getting off it feel much safer. Pad is very comfortable even for a very obese man like me. Very adjustable and not very heavy. Handles carpet like a champ. Super easy assembly with easy to follow instructions. CONS The wheels do not like any bumps, even small ones. Be careful of any non-smooth surface. I have to re-tighten all the screws and latches every couple days. Not great for outdoor use. Difficult to put in car. Summary: Spectacular device for home use. Easy and comfortable to use. ... show more

  • Careful when using outdoors, must have
This items has worked really well for me. It has allow me to remain independent and with great mobility. When using outdoors, small stones or cracks on the ground can cause the handle to strongly go side ways or abruptly stop causing you to loose balance or even fall. You can minimize/avoid this problem by going slow and holding the handles firmly in the direction you want the scooter to go (avoid terrain that is not safe for use). Also the wheels are not really designed for outdoor use but they can be if you are careful. There's a lot of vibration if used on sidewalks/grounds that are not smooth/even. So during the first stage of recovery when your foot needs to stay immobile, you should to stay on even/smooth surfaces. The scooter works amazingly indoors! It does not scratch wood floors, it's easy to maneuver around the house; and once you get the hang of it, you can even use it while vacuuming and doing other chores around the home (of course your healing must allow you to do so). I have used my scooter for two months and it has allowed me to heal in a better manner than using crutches. It keeps the foot elevated which minimized swelling and pain (specially the week after surgery when your foot won't stand being down). Less swelling also helps with the scaring (skin won't stretch as much which won't open the incision). The scooter is easy to use (rapid learning curve). You can move faster and with A LOT less pain. Less possibility of loosing balance falling than using crutches. You can use the scooter as support when getting up and seating down (specially helpful when using the toilet). Crutches can cause a lot pain and you must be strong enough to use them. If you suffer from fibromyalgia, the scooter is a must have. I have put some serious miles on my scooter and still works as well as it did on day one. But be aware that it makes noise/ squeaks (but it's expected based on construction design). Putting it together after arrival was simple, but it does need some strength to lack the pieces together. But it can be done! My husband out my scooter together on less than 3 minutes :-) I also purchase the gel cushion/cover to go over the knee rest. It has helped a lot for the long term use. The basket is also helpful to carry items and to keep your hands safely on the handles. Overall, this is a great item! I recommended it to anyone having foot surgery! Well worth the money and it holds good resale value! (good way to recuperate some of the expense since insurance doesn't cover it). ... show more

  • Easy assembly/reasonable price
We were happy to see that this had easy assembly. It's been used by my husband and several of our neighbors. It's the perfect size and the ability to fold it down makes it fit into anyone's trunk or back of an SUV.
