  • Decent product but can't get replacement parts
Color: Red
We bought this product to go to Britain in April/May. I have MS and use a rollator for short distances and a scooter for long treks. We thought this product would be better than trying to transport two walking aids. When it arrived, it came in good packaging and it was easy to assemble. It is heavier than my rollator, so my husband is the one who gets it in and out of the car. We have a Chevy Equinox so we have plenty of room for it. It does fold up small but to get it to stay as small as possible, we use small bungies as you can see in the picture. It is very easy to fold and unfold and to convert it from a rollator to a transport wheelchair and vice versa. Although the bag it comes with holds plenty, I didn't use it on the trip because it's just one more rather large thing to take on an off going through the airport. The part that says it holds a cane wasn't helpful because it gets in the way of the pedals when the device is used as a rollator. My husband again used bungees to come up with this arrangement (see pic) for my trekking poles. As others state, it doesn't maneuver as easy as my rollator, but it was easy enough for me to adjust given that we were only using it for the trip. It also doesn't turn on a dime when you're pushing it, but again, the benefit of having the one product (instead of two) certainly made up for that. When you come to a curb, it is much easier to go over backwards when in the wheelchair mode. We gave it a real workout through airports, trains & stations, in and out of a rental car, up and down the hills of Edinburgh, and over cobblestones in the historic areas. It's not easy to push up and down hills when it's raining on cobbles, but it wouldn't be easy to push any wheelchair under those circumstances. I am 5' 5", weigh 125lbs. and did not find the ride to be too uncomfortable. Others say they had trouble with their butts hanging out the back. This was not an issue for me. What was an issue was that shortly after we arrived in England, the foot pedals kept falling down when I wasn't using them. More bungees. Our biggest issue was when one of the front black screws fell out while going over bumps (see pic). My husband was able to temporarily fix it with another screw from the back of the wheelchair, but we were continually making sure both sides were screwed in after we went a short distance. And they frequently needed tightening. When we got home, we contacted Elenker to ask how to get replacement parts, but they haven't responded for over a month. We put threadlock on the screws to stop them from loosening up, but that hasn't gotten tested yet. Overall, we like the product as it works for us. We will be taking it on a cruise to Italy and Greece. It would be nice if Elenker saw this review and told us how to get parts. I will update this review if they do. ... show more

  • The Good and the concerning
Color: Purple
I purchased this 2 in 1 Rollator Walker & Transport Chair for my aunt who is 89 years old. She lives in a Senior Citizen High Rise Apartment Building and needs to make trips to other floors in the building to do laundry, pick up her mail and or conduct her business at the business office. She has always been very independent and fortunately has been able to care for herself and be mobile enough to perform daily tasks. It was only within the past few weeks that she had mentioned to me that she is starting to feel a bit concerned at times about being unsteady on her feet in some areas of her travels. Let me mention that she lives in Pennsylvania. Anyone familiar with PA knows that wherever you go you are walking either up hill or down hill, even entering or exiting her apartment building - going up or down a ramp. My aunt did have back surgery years ago and did not want a walker that would cause her to constantly bend forward causing her back pain or altering her posture. She is also only 5'2"/5'3" tall and felt that the upright walker would be uncomfortable for her shoulders having to keep her arms up at that height continuously. After looking at the variable height adjustments on the handles on this walker and the height of the hand rests on an upright walker - there is only a 1" difference in the highest setting on this walker and the lowest setting on an upright walker so not enough of a difference to be concerned about - as well as after reading about upright walkers I have concluded that they may be hazardous to use on uneven, inclining or declining surfaces causing her to tip over. I therefore decided to try this product based on the the type of wheels, the weight of the product and the versatility. Here are a few of the pro's and con's that we have discovered. - This walker/rollator is a bit heavier (approx 3-5 lbs) heavier than others, but I feel that provides more stability for her when she is using it. (I believe the extra weight is the rubber 10" wheels). The down side of this would be that someone of my aunts size and ability would not be able to easily lift it into a vehicle. In my aunts case that does not matter as she does not drive any longer and would need someone else to transport her to wherever she is going and that person would be lifting the walker into a vehicle. Another Pro on this subject was the transport feature. When someone is picking her up to take her shopping or other places, the parking lot that person needs to park in is across the street from the building that she lives in. Therefore, the transport chair is very handy to move her from the building to the parking lot there or at her doctors offices parking lots into their office, etc. However, depending on the size of your vehicle - when trying to put the chair into the car it does take up a good deal of space leaving little room to transport other items such as groceries, etc. We happen to have a smaller size SUV and had to put the back seats down to accommodate the walker and other items that I wanted to take out to her (which was not many). With regard to the wheels, we found that that they appear to be quite durable and roll smoothly but a word of caution: They do stop on concrete when pressing the brakes, however if you are on a carpeted area or even a tile floor, when depressing the brakes the walker will continue to slide so be careful and mindful of that. Take it slow. As of the date of writing this review, my aunt has been using this for only a few days, but thus far I have not received any calls with complaints. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. By the way, she just loves the purple color! Says no one in her building has one like it. ... show more

  • It is what I think I need
Color: Red
I have not tested the product yet with my brother in law at his nursing home yet. But I feel this will meet several of his needs as well as my needs as the person who must transport him to appointments. I am over 65 myself. The product was clearly marked on how to assemble and I did have only a little trouble putting it together due to my age. At this point in time I am very well satistied with the product thank You very much. ... show more

  • All terrain walker/wheelchair
Color: Purple
We called this piece of equipment “the beast”! We used it for our adult special needs daughter after major orthopedic surgery. It held up well, but was a bit heavy for those of us with shoulder issues to get in and out of a high SUV trunk easily. It also does not turn easily, but it sure held up well. We plan to pass it on to someone young and strong!! ... show more
