THE IDEA IS PRACTICAL, BUT TWO THINGS ARE NOT SO GOOD;FIRST, THE SEAT IS VERY HARD LIKE A STONE WHICH MAY CAUSE PRESSURE ULCER UNLESS YOU PUT ADDITIONAL PADDING AND SECOND, THE STRAPS TO SUPPORT THE FEET ARE TOO SHORT AND ONLY HALF OF THE FOOT GET SUPPORT.

I am a nurse as well as my mom. We purchased for my grandmother for Christmas. Put it together the same night, we have already replaced the old Walker with seat, that make her walk hunched over with this and she walking straighter, and if she gets tired we convert to the wheel chair and she can place her feet up, and off we go!!! Best thing ever! We have a cup holder and an umbrella holder, even bought a clamp style clip to place on for a sun shade when we’re out on sunny hot days. Love this and recommend it to everyone the padding is comfortable, there is storage and a seat belt! Best thing we’ve purchased to replace wheel chair (which is super heavy and bulky) and a Walker (clunky and makes the person walk hunched over) highly recommend ... show more

    • Good lightweight transport chair

I purchased this to use after upcoming foot surgery. We had a trip planned to Disney World beforehand and I knew I wouldn't be able to stand or walk for long periods. I used this at WDW for three days, alternating between walker and chair mode. It was comfortable and was easily maneuvered through the crowds. It folded to fit on the railroad, and under seat storage held jackets and purchases. The only cons were some difficulty making tight turns in line at attractions (that's a Disney design flaw) and as others have reported, you have to be mindful of thresholds- as a chair it tends to be front heavy and will tip forward. A side note that Main Street at Magic Kingdom is a pain with the tracks because the crowds tend to push you into them and it's difficult to cross them. I was concerned that it might not be comfortable for long periods but it was fine, even with a 4 year old on my lap frequently. One thing to consider is size- I am 5'6" and 175 pounds. If you are a wider person or taller with long legs it might be too narrow for you and the seat is a bit short. ... show more

    • Issues when using footrests and sticking to wheels so they won't turn

When trying to push a person who is using the footrests the wheels will not move because the footrests press against them. To get the chair to move I have to turn the wheels around, so they don't stick, but the wheels end up moving right back and get stuck again. I suggest to the manufacturer to position the footrests at least 2 inches away from the wheels so this doesn't happen. I returned this item because I no longer want to mess with hand turning the wheels to get it to move. The also tips forward easily by the person sitting in the chair if there is a slight movement forward. Both of these issues are a real safety hazard. It would be a very nice product if the manufacture redesigns these two items. I do not recommend buying this product as it is currently designed. ... show more

This was as expected. It is nice and sturdy. Storage under the seat is large. I like that the footrests are detachable and it is easy to maneuver. There does not seem to be an acceptable place to add a cup holder, which was disappointing. However, it serves its purpose well.
