Husband’s side now has a depression where his shoulder rests. Most likely, because he’s a side sleeper and rarely moves, and I’m the wiggle worm. I can’t say anything about the cooling effect. I was having issues with my mattress hurting my shoulder and my other side when I rolled over after I slept for a bit. I am a side sleeper and change positions through the night and a fairly heavy guy ATM. This topper I was able to definitely feel it under the sheets. It is quite soft and nice feeling. It has taken MOST of the pains away after using it a week now. I may need a new mattress after all in the end but this topper will certainly go on top of that mattress as well. I love that it is all cotton and my wife likes that she can put it in the washer no problem. A quality product which is getting harder and harder to find these days. THANKS! ... show more

    • Had to wait a while to write this
I put this on top of a Purple 3 mattress after waking up to many times with sore joints. Honestly, I couldn't stay in bed more them 5-6 hours before I had to go lay on the couch. I'm over 200lbs, but my wife who is closer to 160, was also having sore hip issues. I have tried foam toppers before without success. After a few weeks of sleeping on this, I can say for us at least, it was money well spent. Neither one of us is waking up sore anymore, and I don't have to get up and go sleep on the couch. Win/win for us. The "cooling" part may be a bit of a stretch. I usually have uncover the lower part of my body early in the morning for a little bit to cool down. Then its okay, weird. I don't give any product 5 stars (have lost some "free products" review chances for that, oh well) because I don't think any product can't be improved. So don't necessarily take the 4-star review as a possible negative. ... show more

This is a good product however with the twin size there is a baffle box seam that runs directly down the middle of the bed creating a valley when you sleep on it. The product is thick, comfortable and does weight 14 lb. If you want to get to full thickness and fluff wash and dry before putting on the bed definitely take it to a laundromat and put it in a double or triple loader by itself. ... show more
