This filament produces consistent prints and looks really good. It's kind of a matte finish, not really flat black or shiny...maybe a low gloss black? I put it through the dryer before using and I have had zero issues with it. Running constant back to back prints I have had consistent results and not a single clog. Very happy with it as with all Elegoo PLA. I also tried their PLA+ which I was not happy with at all. After wasting 2 rolls experimenting, I gave it a bad review. Elegoo sent me 2 replacement rolls and after putting them through the dryer, I am happy to say that the PLA+ is also very nice to work with. I bought a dryer, after my experience with the PLA+ and it has been a game changer. I only wish I had owned a dryer when I tried the PLA+ the first time around, would have been an entirely different review. Great products and great customer service!!! A+ ... show more

    • Love - Hate Relationship but improving…

UPDATE: The review below was for the white PLA of the black and white combo order I made. I used the black filament with two different prints, the first was a 21 plus hour print the second for a 25 hour print with no snags or issues (Sunlu S9 plus). The two prints were for a filament spool stand for off loading filament, the second print was for a filament spool rewind stand with gears and a handle. Both prints were flawless. The filament itself looks clean and after rewinding a couple of problem spools I had I was impressed with the stiffness of the print both on the vertices and horizontal planes. I am upgrading the review from a three star to a four star review. I ordered a spool of beige PLA for a wide two part computer case, each half estimating 48 hrs plus each. We’ll see how this goes. Great price on this filament. A Large print did well in the first 25% of printing then the filament began to snag due to crossovers in the winding of the filament. I ended up de-spooling the filament from the cardboard spool onto a plastic spool. After doing so the rest of the print went flawlessly (17 hours with no problems). This filament is not as adhesive to the bed as my regular filament but did not interfere with the print. ... show more

Elegoo truly makes good PLA that prints great every time, better than other brands I have tried. That said, this last batch of Metallic silver is just grey. I mean, it looks VERY grey almost like a worn version of silver, very little shine too. The previous batch I bought from them was the same metallic silver which is why I re-ordered it again but this last time was very disappointing. I like the company (I have the printer) and I like the quality of the PLA but the color is way off, enough that I don't know if I will be purchasing it again. Picture: The older roll (a month or two ago) is on the left and the newest roll (just purchased) is on the right. I noticed that there was a few days where the silver PLA wasn't available so maybe that was when they switched vendors but yeah, the PLA quality is still top notch but this is NOT a metallic silver. Update: Elegoo reached out and provided a replacement. Exceptional customer service. I am really blown away by a company caring so much about their customer's satisfaction. I just need them to make a 3D printer that does multi-color prints. I am probably going to end up buying the Neptune 4 Max for my next printer. ... show more
