I loved this blanket so much that I made the mistake of sharing it with my son who's bedroom gets quite warm in the summer. Now I need to buy another one for myself because he can't live without it either! I tried to buy a cheaper one for him but it was nothing like this blanket. So I'm back getting one in my favorite color this time and also opting for the smaller throw size since I never need it fully covering me - there's still always a leg sticking out somewhere. If you run hot or don't have a/c but need something cool and of course if you're suffering with hot flashes as I am, you need this blanket. Need not want. Worth every penny!

I love this blanket! The cooling side is so cold and refreshing and the warm side provides a bit of heat retention but not too much. It’s perfect for summers! The cooling side can get warm after a while but if you shift to a different part of the blanket for literally a minute, that first area will be cool again. Or you could just air it out like if you were airing out a fart from under the blanket and it cools again within seconds. I didn’t think it’d be so effective. Just a disclaimer: this is my first cooling blanket so I have no other reference point and I’ve only washed it once but it was the same afterwards.

First, the blanket is really thin, so thin that I thought it would feel too light, but it didn't. One side is cool and the other is normal. The cool side was definitely cool on the skin and remained so for the 4 or 5 hours I used it. I awoke in the night to go to the bathroom, and while the blanket was still cool, I was sweating. Sadly, the blanket doesn't breathe, so while it felt cool, it didn't actually cool the body and heat could not escape. I sleep with the A/C on 67 and have a fan blowing across my bed. The blanket I normally use is heavier, but it breathes. I can actually feel the fan through it. I could not feel the fan with the cooling blanket. When I returned to bed, I went back to my regular blanket, which was quite a shock after the cooling one. However, I could feel the fan and slept cooler. The next night, I decided to sleep on top of the cool side of the blanket, and voila, I found the perfect solution for me. Maybe I should just use a cooling fitted sheet, but this is working for me. In summary, it really is cool to the touch and against the body, but I prefer to sleep on top of it rather than under it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't breathe.

I'm hot. I've always been hot. I will forever be hot. That's my lot in life. 50 degrees Fahrenheit indoors? Sweating bullets. Sleeping in the summer was a miserable experience because I'm one of those people who NEEDS a blanket to sleep. Doesn't need to be a heavy blanket a sheet will even do, but some nights even a sheet is too much. That's where this blanket comes in. I cover up with this blanket and I COOL OFF! WHAT?! Who ever heard of using a blanket to cool yourself off? But here we are this thing WORKS. It's like I put my blanket in the fridge for a few minutes before bed. I've never been so excited to come home after a hot day and cover up under my blanket. If you're a human furnace like I am, get one of these.

I never write reviews but wanted to share! This blanket is actually cooling. No blankets are going to say "cold" all night with body heat. However when I got up to use bathroom after sleeping a few hours it wasn't hot like my usual sheets and I wasn't covered in sweat (peri-menopause) and by the time I got back into bed 2 mins later it was already back to cold. It feels cool to the touch and silky smooth. I am using it with AC and my usual ceiling fan but before I was waking up with night sweats even with those things. I slept with it for a few nights and just ordered the comforter and pillow cases as well. It's extremely lightweight. Not much more than a sheet so I will either use it under the comforter or as a throw on my couch because I need to feel a little weight on me when I sleep. My regular comforter on top of it did make it a little warmer quicker.
