I love that this drumkit allows for versatile practicing for a beginner. It has enough touch feel to not feel like a cheap "toy only" there's enough functionality that you can put a song on and groove to it with the drumkit. Although it would be nice to have more degree of accuracy on the strike volume and attack, this set is quite extensive for a beginner. Our son has taken up drumming as a hobby and this kit allows him to practice anywhere in the house or on the go. He can plug a headset in with the included adapter or opt to use the speakers. It's easy enough to control the volume also and setup is a breeze compared to having to lug around and set up a full set of drums or E drums. I feel that he will quickly outgrow this set, but it gets him passionate about whether or not he has the patience for a full set of the more expensive Edrums later down the line. The kit also includes a High Hat and Kick Drum pedal which adds to the realism of a full kit; don't overlook those.

Especially for kids wanting to explore rhythm and drum sounds, this is a great beginner play set. Our family doesn't have drum expertise, so I don't know how good it is for experts, but my little has had so much fun with this. I personally love that it has a headphone jack (and earphones included), making it virtually silent for observers--a very unique element with drum sets.... :) The speakers work well with good quality, especially for this kind of product. The volume control works nicely with fairly quiet settings. There's several different drum sound types and built in rhythm and background tracks, giving easy to use practice with multiple contexts. The audio input allows easy use of external tracks. The set rolls up nicely for storage or transport, making it a really nice balance of accessibility, use, and portability. It will have to be on a firm surface to use (not a lap, for instance), but that shouldn't be a big deal in most cases.

This is a cool drum set that has 7 pads that mimic real drum sounds. It has 5 different kits to give you different drum sounds with each kit. You also have two pedals that control the bass and high hat sounds. You also get a demo button to hear 8 different demo songs that were played with the set, and you can try to play along. They give you two sets of drumsticks, one set that is more suited to an adult and the other for children. There is also a USB port to connect your set to your computer which would allow you to play electronic drum practice games such as with Melodics. They even give you a wired head set so you can practice without disturbing others. One of the coolest things about this set is that it is rechargeable with the included charging cable. You can get up to 10 hours of play time when fully charged, this way you don't have to find a place to plug it in to play it. This makes it great for playing anywhere you want, even outdoors. The only downfall I have found so far is that the high hat, ride and crash seem to be a little low in tone. I guess only a seasoned drum player would notice this though. For beginners or someone who just wants to have fun with a drum set would find this a blast to fool around with.

This portable, electric drum set has a great sound quality. I was surprised at how good it sounded when I first heard it. My 12 year old son is in 7th grade band as a percussionist, and he has been saying he wants a drum set. Well, drum sets are expensive and take up a lot of space, so I figured this would be a good starter drum set to see how he does with. I'm extremely pleased with it. It rolls up easily, comes with drum sticks, 2 pedals, and the ultimate saving grace.... headphones. He, and his sister, started playing with it immediately after he opened it for Christmas. He loves it, and I'm very impressed with it.... Win, Win.

Soooooo, this is a Christmas gift for my daughter, however my husband and I had to try it out. We played with this drum kit all night. The sound quality is great! It even has a foot pedal and comes with drumsticks (two sets, a shorter pair, I'm guessing for kids). The volume can go REALLY LOUD if needed. It even comes with earbuds when you would rather not hear the musical masterpiece from your child, they can still enjoy their own beats. It's silicone so you can literally roll it up and take it anywhere. The unit does work better on a hard flat surface. I hope the kid loves it as much as we do.

This is a holiday gift for our son, who is getting more into musical instruments. His dad tried them out and he was impressed with the overall quality of the pads and accessories. As a music producer, he said this is a great beginner's set for kids/adults who are showing an interest in playing the drums. The sound quality was clear and the volume was perfect. The drumsticks are solid you receive two pairs and the snare drum pedals are a nice add-in for that realistic drum set feel. Great for practicing and adding variety to a kid's musical interest. The overall quality is good for this set and price. I definitely will come back and update the review once he opens them over the holiday.

I am having such fun with this instrument! I love that it has speakers as well as headphones so I can jam with friends but also not bother my wife when I just want to make some noise. The unit comes equipped with various sounds to make different types of drum beats. It is easy to set up and to figure out how to use. My only complaint is that the pads sometimes do not respond on hit or will make the sound twice, but this may also be my fault as I am still learning to hit them correctly. If you have an interest in percussion or enjoy having a musical outlet just for fun, this is for you! It is clearly designed for amateur play, but that's exactly what I need. I didn't want to break the bank on a more professional set until I knew if I would be into it and so far this is convincing me that I made the right choice to learn basic electronic drums.
