The RE-20 is great. I have used them for years recording VOs. The first kit delivered had both a broken shock mount and broken desk arm. It was delivered after a week and a half shipping delay. Returned it and ordered another kit the same day. Today received this kit on time but both items are broken again. The shock mount is partly good quality but part of it is made from what appears to be coat hanger wire and it’s assembled so poorly that it separates from the yoke. Also the plastic parts of the arm are the week links. Metal parts are fine but both shipments the plastic was broken on my desk arm. ... show more

    • Great mic, good shockmount, mediocre broadcast arm. Altogether a good deal.
This package is pretty good. The "knockoff" Auray shockmount in this bundle has a rubber gasket, unlike the Electrovoice version. This makes the Auray arguably better than the Electrovoice shockmount, which can damage the microphone's finish. We all know what the RE20 is and how well it works. No issues here. The broadcast arm, on the other hand, is mediocre. It's a fair deal for the price, but it isn't very robust. The clamp is a bit flimsy. The tension adjustment is difficult to tune, you will need a phillips head screwdriver to hold the retention screw in place while you adjust the knob. After adjustment, it had no problem holding the mic. The arm itself does not fit snugly in the clip, it does wobble unless tightened down - but if you tighten it, the arm cannot rotate in the clamp. FYI the cable is integrated into the arm, and is of decent (but not great) quality. ... show more

I spent 41 years in radio and THIS is the mic I used for most of those years. It is, bar none, THE best microphone for voice work of all kinds. Look to the pros, look for pictures of the DJ's at your favorite station and chances are you will see them seated behind this very microphone. In my extensive experience, you can not find a better mic at or below this price anywhere, which is why it is the preferred choice of thousands of radio stations.     • A fantastic bundle for any podcaster/streamer
The headline sums it all up fairly neatly; the value of the bundle was well worth it when I purchased it. The EV RE-20 is a mic built on decades of experience and it shows. The boom arm and shock mount, while perhaps being a bit 'basic,' do the job just fine. It is worth noting that the RE-20 IS a gain hungry mic, be sure your equipment can feed that hunger, less you will sound quiet. It also does not use Phantom Power, do not feed it such less you risk damaging the mic. ... show more

I started with a yeti microphone and should have just invested in one of these from the beginning. Using the exact same settings on both mics into GarageBand, there is an insanely clear difference in the quality. The company is also fantastic.     • The Most Incredible Voice Overs
This microphone makes you sound like a radio personality. It is clear and highly directional. I found that I needed a microphone preamp to boost this level prior to the mixer. (It is a dynamic mic.) The boom arm and shockmount are also really great.

    • RE20 is awesome and also the boom attachment
The EV RE-20 is awesome. This is the third one that I've bought. Great for broadcast spoken word recording, some male singing vocals and some hip hop. But what was great also is the boom arm kit. I don't use boom arms a lot, but this one is very sturdy and has a high reach and secure clamp that makes it very useful. I had bought another cheap knock-off type boom arm and having that side by side the the EV boom arm you can really tell a major difference. The EV unit is very solid and well built. ... show more
