I was torn between buying the JBL PRX 615's, The QSC KW152, and these. Since they were all 1000w 2-way PA speakers, it mostly came down to price. Most of my experience is with JBL and Mackie, and I wasn't "thrilled" about getting a set of EV's. But I have to say, I'm impressed. Light weight, clean looking and sounding. My only complaint would be the thinner grill on the front. Taking these speakers out of the shipping boxes, I bumped one and put a slight dent/dimple in the front of the grill. I'm sure I can take it off and press it flat again, but it sucks to have to do that to a brand new item. They could have used a slighty heavier grade of mesh, and it may protect them a little better. Absolutely incredible speaker. I have used this speaker for 5 or so events now and it has performed beyond expectations each time. In the most recent application, single speaker elevated on a speaker stand provided enough sound reinforcement to cover a 20 by 60 foot walled yard with out flinching. The only complaint I would have against the speaker is the smell when new. I am not alone in this as a google search turned up the same "weed" smell. However, after the break in period the smell, which apparently comes from the adhesive used on the speaker cones, dissipated. Again, can't recommend this speaker enough and I will purchasing the ELX118ps soon with the hope they are as good as these speakers. ... show more

    • Great speakers for the money
I have 2 of these little speakers and absolutely love them. Have not had to boost the volume in order to get them cranked up and have to constantly bring the volume down as people complain that it is too loud. I had bought a woofer but have not had to use it as the speakers pack a powerful punch.

I had a very bad experience with this provider, I sent a speaker used when I pay for a new one. besides this speaker not working, I had to return it and I could not hold an event I had for this weekend. do not buy this provider. I feel very frustrated.

I'm a mobile DJ that performs gigs of all types, big venues, small venues, birthday parties, or weddings. I do it all. I bought two of the ELX 115P speakers about 4 months ago, and have used them at about 15 gigs since then. These speakers are extremely loud and can fill almost any size venue. These things pack a very powerful punch in terms of Bass. I tested out both these and the ELX 112P speakers, and there is a HUGE difference! The ELX 115 have a ton more bass because of the bigger sub, and also have a slightly larger horn. In my opinion, if you are gonna buy the ELX 118P subwoofers to go with your speakers, then you might wanna go with the 12 inch speaker cabs, because it will save you a little bit of cash and the only real difference between the 12 and 15 speaker cabs is the bass. but if you pair them with 18 inch subwoofers, then it doesn't matter which speakers you use! The largest party i did with my ELX 115P speakers, i was on a balcony above a crowd of about 300 people OUTDOORS, however, i also had a 18 inch B-52 Subwoofer paired with them to pack a little more punch because i was outdoors and needed to cover a HUGE range. I only had them turned up to about 50% of the max volume, and these things just blew the crowd away all night! the Sound quality is honestly incredible for the price that you pay. BEWARE: the paint on these chip Extremely easily, so i suggest you buy the paded covers for your spears, so they don't get scratched during transportation. The only complaint i have about these, is that they smell terrible! They honestly smell like Weed.. I have read many other reviews and several other people have experienced this too, so i'm not the only one! People say that it is the paint finish that gives the speakers this odd smell. But over time,the smell has started to slowly go away. Over all, I am a Very happy customer, Great Job EV! ... show more
