It stopped working entirely after a couple of uses. It was very finicky and would stop with any type of tension since I received it, but I was able to just loosen the yarn tension to keep it winding in its own. Now, even with no tension at all, it starts for a second, spins about once or twice, then just shuts off. It does the same thing every single time I start it. Even without any yarn on it. I know it’s a cheaper model, but it’s not worth anything at all if it doesn’t work even a little. The durability has been terrible from the start and only gets worse. Do not waste your time or money.

Not sure what I should put for stars honestly. Works well for small yarn skeins, not the red heart at all. Does not hold 10 ozs, maybe if it was a tighter tension it would but to me, it's loose. Not sure why they advertise can hold 10 oz when it cannot. It cannot do a 7 oz red heart.

Absolutely no complaints! Works perfect (unlike the one I bought from hobby lobby that instantly broke) This one has no issues and seems very sturdy. I used weight 4 and weight 5 yarns and both worked! I will say it only fits about half of a typical skein such as big twist or super saver. But it’s worth it I just made them into two cakes. TDLR; it’s sturdy and totally worth it!!

The premise is great, and I appreciate that it stops at a knot. The trade-off is that the motor is incredibly weak (it can’t even pull my swift along, which will spin in a light breeze) and the tension guide doesn’t provide any tension. All the cakes are incredibly loose, making them huge and a bit sloppy in the middle. There are better choices out there. Update- the motor is dead. It didn’t last five months.
