Update: if power goes out, it stays off. So best to install where you can easily access the front panel to turn it on again. Mounting was a breeze with included template and brackets. My water is around 85 F (30 C) coming in at 1.25 gpm, so there was no reduction in flow to kitchen sink at 109 F (42 C) setting. So far (after a day of use) there have been no snafus or shut-downs. The manual warns that much hotter water will come out at first with start/stop/start, because the water next to the coils will take up residual heat at the stop, so be careful (if you think about it, the situation is unavoidable by the very nature of electric boilers) and get in the habit of running the hot for a bit before plunging in with your unprotected hands (another reason I set it at 109). The biggest problem was running a 240 volt line to the sink, so this unit is best for new build or sites where you have an easy wire pathway to your electrical panel. Also, the manual advises to avoid mounting in areas where water can possibly drip down onto it, so that pretty much excludes under-sink installations, where I imagine most would want to install it for access to the water supply lines (as shown in two of their product images), even though the text recommends installing 'a few feet away." I would have hoped the manufacturer would have engineered a water resistant housing just for this situation. Seller also follows up the sale with an email reminding of electrical requirements. I've not needed tech support. So far, so good! And happy to instant hot water at the kitchen sink (the farthest point in my house from my hot water heater).

We had been thinking about getting something like this for a while, and finally decided to try it. Our house isn’t that big, but for some reason the pipes from our propane water heater are really long before reaching the bathroom sink. In winter it’s even worse with the cold copper pipes. It would take forever to get hot water, and it always felt like a waste letting gallons of water run just waiting. This completely solved that problem. It mounts under the sink and gives you instant hot water, and I really mean instant. No waiting at all. It’s lightweight and easy to install. You can mount it properly, but if you’re renting or don’t want to drill, you could even just place it under the sink and connect it with flexible hoses. It’s not designed for continuous use like a shower, and the recovery time isn’t super fast. This is more for short uses, like washing hands, brushing teeth, or quick cleaning. In our case, by the time the small tank starts running out, the hot water from the main heater has already arrived. Because of that, power usage is pretty low. It mostly just maintains the water temperature rather than constantly heating from cold. Overall, it’s a great addition if you deal with long delays for hot water. Just keep in mind it does take up some space under the sink, so you may need to reorganize a bit.

Have been using this in my workshop for over four years. Replaced a 4-gallon hot water tank that only lasted one year due to hard water. So far this unit has functioned flawlessly. You should not expect this to supply enough hot water for a shower, especially if the incoming water is below 60 degrees, but for a single sink for washing hands this works fine most of the year. During extreme winter cold, when the incoming water temperature is less than 45 F, the faucet must be kept low to allow time for the water to heat up to desired temperature, but that is something I can deal with. I have also added a hot water recirculating pump (with it's own push-to-operate switch) to preheat the water in the lines when needed, and an "electronic water softener" to (supposedly) prevent lime buildup.

The unit is easy to install and worked fine for me, however it turned out it was not the right size unit for our needs. I would recommend it to anyone but make sure you understand you needs and what the unit will be able to prove. It will save you the trouble of having to changed it out.

Picked this for a tiny house setup and overall it does what it’s supposed to. It heats up pretty quick and it’s nice having hot water right at the sink without waiting forever. The size makes it easy to tuck away, which was a big plus for us. Just know this is a small tank, not endless hot water. My well pump runs at about 55psi, thru 1/2" tubing. This water heater gives me the hot water that I use at my sink, at the shower,& at the temp. that I asked for. I just LOVE IT! My very OLD water heater could not do all the cool stuff that this one does. For me the hook-up was easy, because I already had my old one hooked-up & just used my old wiring/plumbing to hook-up the new one. Amazonen.
