It was a pretty easy install. I used 1/2 inch copper pipe with foam insulation so it heats up the pipes fast and they stay hot for a while. I had to turn the temp down to shower without getting scalded. I started at 125deg. and knocked it down to 112. I thought there would be more heat loss from the basement. It also does good for a bath. The temperature swings high when you use full flow and shut the water off quickly, the heating elements are still hot so switching from tub to off to shower can produce a section of 139 deg water. I didn't have any problems with the threads leaking or not fitting, probably because I chose all my fittings carefully at the store. Inspected and tested several and took the best fittings. and used a good amount of Teflon tape and the rubber washers that came with the heater. Its been running great for over a month now with no problems. Happy customer. I will buy the same one again when we move. UPDATE: 3 Months and running great.

I just wanted to recommend Ecotouch for having a great product at a great price. I have had a 14k and a 6.5K running in my tiny home for going on two years with no problems and preforming better that expected. I do recommend sizing up just to be on the safe side when purchasing. Installation was super easy. The customer service went above and beyond the one time I did contact them.

The company did reach out to me and finally connect. It was stressful and was without hot water for about month while working it out. Got the replacement within two days of them sending it out. There was a computer glitch that caused some miss communication but it worked out in the end. The machine was replaced and is working fine now. I didn't do a 5 because of the stressful month without the tank but hey stuff happens and this product has good flow, keeps hot for a long time and is helping on the electric bill.

Replaced existing undersink water heater in my woodshop but located this one in a more accessible location for future maintenance and easy access to the controls. It works great and the seller did a find job of delivering and supporting my installation. I highly recommend following the advice of installing descaler valves (not included), which give you hose connections and valves in a compact unit for future descaling. My previous two demand water heaters have failed after a few years because I did not follow this advice and never descaled them. Descaling (with vinegar or a commercial descaling solution) should be done once per year or so depending on your water hardness. There are several YouTube videos on how to do this. If you have the right valves installed below the water heater, this process appears to be quite simple.

So far, no complaints with this water heater. I replaced a much more expensive unit with this one. The previous unit had the same voltage and breaker requirements, as well as similar water connections, so instillation for me was fairly simple. Performance wise, the Ecotouch heater does great, especially in my house where it typically only runs one fixture or appliance at a time. I have not experienced any cold shots of water while operating like my old water heater used to. Design wise, I like how this unit is set up, it uses a continuous metal water line with the heating element surrounding the water line. All previous on demand water heaters that I've used have had small reservoirs with the heating element submerged within the reservoirs. The Ecotouch design seem less likely to foul up with minerals in my opinion, but time will tell. Very pleased with this water heater so far, wish I'd tried this one first.

UPDATE:02/05/2026 The manufacturer sent a replacement. It arrived in a smashed. opened box. Even the inside box was opened, at both ends, and only one end was taped back. I don't know if everything is there, or if it will even work because of the way it was treated during shipping. The papers did not come with it and I have no way to contact the seller now. (At least, I can't find a way.) Stopped working. We can't get it to do anything and it hasn't even been two years. Purchased on 12/11/2024 so just barely a year by the time it was delivered. So I guess quality and lifespan is terrible. Water flow was slow. The water wasn't getting hot enough so we turned it up to 130° and it got a little better.

Good so far, great out of box experience. It has 1/2 NPT fittings which fit well with name brand fittings. It is not quite as fast as some point of use heaters I've used, but is doing great. It has a live temperature and flow rate readout on the display which I like. When you see lines across the screen it is in standby mode. I had ZERO leaks after proper installation. NPT threads can be tricky to get sealed if someone is not used to them. I use pipe tape AND pipe compound brushed on for a leak free install the first time. Will update review is something happens, Otherwise it's good to go.

Worked for almost 7 months and one side of the heating element has failed and it is not serviceable unless you replace the whole water inlet and outlet unit.
