Would recommend the track version. The torque wants to pull the handle when climbing. It makes sense when you think about it and I wish I had thought about it beforehand. You can extend the handles to counteract it but, the heavier the object the higher the torque.

Dangerous!!! this unsafe when moving heavy items down the stairs because the adjustable arms do not lock into place! I attempted to move a 300 lb battery to my basement with this and the telescoping arms slipped! They are supposed to be adjustable, and yes, you can adjust them with the 4 thumbscrews, sure. But, you can't lock those adjustments as there are no notches in the telescoping metal bars to lock them to the frame after adjustment. They are basically only held in place by friction between the smooth metal and 4 hand tightened knob screws. With enough weight on the dolly, the handles will just slide out of position. . Thus, the arms are not secure at all and will slip if you have a heavy object on them. It's not as big of a problem going up stairs. It's a huge problem going down the stairs. Plus, the arms grab the stairs and deposit the climber in extremely weird positions. instead of smoothly dropping the item on to the next stair there was often a large drop-off that I was afraid would damage the stairs or the battery. I was choosing between this and the stair climbing dolly one with the tracks. I think I should have chosen the tracked stair climber. or i should have just hired somebody to move the battery and saved my money.

I carried all my stuff with the other hand dolly for 4 years before. I really regret why I didn't buy it earlier... it is strong and useful. No need to install the front small wheels if you are not going to carry appliances. An excellent product! My gratitude to all the engineers who made and thought of it.
