  • Excellent scooter, glad I made this choice
Style: 1600W
I bought the Todimart 1600W model, some info on it can be found searching the web for the Todimart G8 (800W model) and Todimart G9 (1600W model). This is a very good product and the seller has been very helpful in assisting with a replacement part. All around kudos and I'm compelled to help back by providing some details to assist folks with assembly as the included documentation is limited. I'm glad with my purchase and I hope this material helps inform your research and decisions. PRODUCT: I researched 13 scooters up to a roughly $1,100 limit and found this one to be the best balance of performance, features, and cost. Remember when you buy a battery and electric motor, you're really looking at how far your money goes in cost per Watt (for motor power) and cost per Watt-Hour (for battery capacity). The Todimart 1600W model was one of four models that came in low for both of these metrics simultaneously (this is good, meaning the cost-per was lower than the other models). I then down-selected amongst the remaining four models by focusing on weight and balancing other features I was looking for (dual motor, inflated tires, dual suspension, disc brakes). Brakes work really well, you'll get used to how little pressure is actually needed on the brakes to slow you down. Dual suspension worked well trialing, I'm looking forward to taking this camping on some unpaved areas. Weight measured in at 55lbs which is a good balance between what I feel comfortable lifting versus how much battery capacity I wanted to buy. There are models with more battery capacity (i.e. mileage range) but that would require stepping up into a >70lbs model. I don't have a need for that much range and lifting that much weight seemed a bit too much. SPEED: It has four speed modes = walking 2mph, eco 6mph, standard 12mph, and sport 15mph. There is a hidden sport+ mode which takes it up to 31mph (see pics). I tested all these modes on a fixed stand to get the speeds. I weigh 185lbs and in test runs against a 10mph headwind I was able to hit all the numbers except sport+ mode which topped me out at 22mph (plenty fast). The first four are fine and anybody can handle them, while sport+ needs more practice as it is fast. I then switched on the front motor (see pics) and it was like Tesla in ludicrous mode - outstanding acceleration. In any mode with dual motors, you will need to hang on when you start regardless of which top speed it's limited to. In sport+ mode in the same test run I was able to get up to 28mph - I don't really want to go any higher. APP: See attached pics. Minimal functionality, but all of it works which is fine by me. I just use it to see a more precise measure of battery left compared to the bars on the handle screen. The app allows you to "lock" the scooter such that moving it or pressing any buttons makes it emit beeps. It only works if you leave the scooter on - meaning as long as the scooter is on it will alert. But of course it's not meant to dissuade theft, it's more of an anti-tampering alert. That's interesting if I'm camping and I'll be alerted if my son tries to jump on this fast scooter, however I'll be adding an AirTag to keep track of it for security purposes. You can remove the bottom plastic battery cover and insert an AirTag in there. ASSEMBLY: I attached several photos of how to assemble it. The included sheet looks like it was run on a copier on its last ounce of toner. So I disassembled my finished product and then captured pics of reassembling it. It's straightforward in retrospect. I'm providing detailed pics of the important steps then summary pics of the basic steps (so you get a sense of which screws go where). All good, and everything feels well secured. Pay very close attention to steps 7 & 8. Also I tend to apply a tiny amount of vaseline on screw threads when assembling something like this. It reduces the stress on the threads and helps them go in a bit smoother. I will continue updating this review if I encounter any issues worthy of an update. If no update then scoot on! ... show more

  • Dangerous. Needs Safety Upgrades.
Style: 1600W
This scooter greatly exceeded my expectations with build quality and performance. The price for what you get is pretty good, but there are a few safety features that should be implemented as this is a VERY powerful and VERY fast scooter. 1: This scooter NEEDS a software update that allows you to limit the maximum speed of each mode. The first three modes (walking, standard, Drive) are basically pointless since “walking” is about 5-6 mph, “standard” is about 12 mph, and “Drive” is about 15 mph. THEN, you have Sport mode and the max speed is 30+ mph. This is just a massive jump and I really feel that there should at least be something between 15 and 30 mph. 2: I thought that this scooter had suspension in the front and rear, but it doesn’t. I tried to figure out where the suspension is or if it could be adjusted and there’s absolutely nothing. The suspension isn’t a huge issue if you’re riding on perfectly paved roads. Unless you’re fortunate enough to live somewhere where the roads are properly cared for, I would NOT recommend this scooter as 30 mph with no suspension is sure to shake you to-death and send you flying off the deck when you hit even the slightest bump. 3: Finally, the throttle is incredibly touchy which makes it very difficult to maintain a constant speed. The controller is NOT smooth. So when you touch the throttle, the wheels GRIP. The acceleration is very fast and not gradual. This is unfortunate since if you just want to give it a little push, the lack of suspension throws you back and if you’re not ready, you will lose control. Similarly with “feathering” the throttle, this is practically impossible since the electronic brake is also so aggressive that it causes your finger to accidentally bump the throttle sending you the opposite direction when it rapidly starts accelerating. Be careful, this combination will give you whiplash in no time! Although the scooter certainly has its flaws, there are a few good things worth mentioning. -Tires have good tread. -Rear fender is great at preventing spray from wet roads (front fender, not so much). - Decent battery life despite always running two motors. -Brake light is bright and flashes upon braking to make you more noticeable. -Headlight seems bright enough for hood visibility at night. -Brakes are strong and provide good stopping power. -App is easy to use, Bluetooth connects well and what it does is fairly minimal but at least it works. Overall, I would advise looking elsewhere for a scooter that at least has good suspension. This is 100% a MUST for any scooter and especially those that go off-road (like this one says it can). With that and the inability to change the maximum speed setting, I believe this scooter is a major safety issue and I can’t recommend it. ... show more

  • It’s a great product for what it is
Style: 1600W
I purchased the model with dual drive motors, and I am extremely happy with it. For all practical purposes, I would say the top speed is closer to 27 miles per hour. It’s possible to go faster on long straight-aways, but I’ve only reached 31 miles per hour, once. The suspension is a little stiff, but it’s still much better than a scooter without it. The school accelerates with enough power to do burnouts if you’re not careful. The brakes are also really responsive without needing much pressure. The range usually lasts me a couple hours of really heavy riding. The scooter is a little large and a little heavy and it definitely takes a little time to get used to. The scooter makes for a very good upgrade, but I would not recommend it as someone’s first electric scooter. Also, I personally had a great experience with receiving and assembling my scooter, but a lot of people of had a negative experience with how their scooter arrived. Overall, the scooter is a really great deal however, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not willing to except the risk that your scooter may or may not arrive damaged. ... show more

  • Good value scooter
Style: 1600W
You get a lot for this price. 1600w with front and rear suspension. Needed a scooter for my son to get to and from his swim practices when we were not able to take him. One that would be able to handle some not perfectly smooth terrain. This scooter fits the bill and the wallet. Looked at more expensive models from other manufactures and decided to try this one out first. Glad we did everything we needed at a fraction of the price of other models. If you are reading this review then you are in the market for a powerful scooter without the markup. I recommend this scooter. So far so good!! If we run into problems in the future we will update the review otherwise if no updates all is going good. ... show more
