For the price, I can't say I was expecting something that blows me out of the water, but I think this scooter does surprisingly well regardless. It can go fairly fast, though it takes a good 10 seconds to get up to speed. You really feel every bump and imperfection in the pavement, which I suppose is expected. It's not as bad as the classic aluminum scooters I used to ride as a kid - the rubber tires are much larger and more forgiving, but I do feel a sense of unease that it would be fairly easy to lose control quickly and take a pretty nasty tumble. Best to ride with caution if you don't have a very strong vision of what's coming up ahead of you. My biggest concern is brake effectiveness - even when squeezing pretty hard, it takes a good ~5 seconds to come to a stop. You don't lose momentum very fast when braking hard, so you'll want to take care while riding to plan ahead in case anything jumps out at you. I would not ride max speed with confidence at all times given the weakness of the brakes. Still, something I am impressed by is the portability. It's quite easy to unlatch the handlebar hinge, fold it (mostly) flat, clip the handlebar into the rear mudflap, and have the entire scooter conveniently flattened up for easy pickup and storage. It's certainly still large and heavy, but not as bad as even the lightest folding bikes. The process of folding and unfolding is simple enough I imagine this would be quite easy to carry inside with you, instead of having to find somewhere to chain and lock it up. Overall, I give this product my recommendation with the simple caveat - don't expect too much. It will certainly get the job done, with functional lights, a quiet motor, not too bulky or heavy, certainly handling up to its weight limit without struggling. It feels well-made for the price and while its acceleration and braking leave much room for improvement, I don't think it's missing anything I would say an e-scooter shouldn't be without.
