After assembled (which took some effort), I turned on the smaller element and it lit up and smoked a little as expected. When I switch on the larger element, the smaller element broke and failed. The larger element kept working, but alone it didn't throw out enough heat for our situation on a covered porch. The main reason I give it stars at all is that the company was easy to work with in resolving the issue (but did require me to contact them through the Amazon system). They asked for a photo of the broken element (which I sent them) and the resolution was to send me a whole replacement head with both elements. That is due to arrive next Monday and they said not to return the damaged head (so I may figure out how to use that with the one element that works). I had actually requested to just replace the head because the base took some time to assemble and I won't have to do that again. I gave the remote one star because I don't recall getting one of those and now need to check with the company.

I have always wanted an outdoor heater ever since my friends got one. This beauty works great work only one heating bulb working. It came with the lower bulb broken so I can only use the right switch for the top bulb heater but regardless it still works well. My boyfriend who is 5ft 10 is standing in one picture to give you an idea for tall it is. Easy to assemble but again the material is made from is VERY fragile and Benda easily so not a lot of pressure should be applied when assembling or after. Also i don't think it should be left outside of you live in a windy area unless you can safely and securely ground it (it wiggles easily so I'm sure one good wind blow and this could fall.) For not being in an enclosed area we feel the heat being near underneath so I'm sure when we move it to the garage it'll heat it up perfectly and once we get a replacement bulb heater it'll be perfect.

This is a heavy duty well made electric patio heater! And believe me, it puts out some heat! We wanted this to try out with our Hot Dog cart because there times when we are set up And it's pretty darn cold. This fits (because it's also adjustable!) under our 10 x 10 canopy and gets so warm we have to turn it down or off! also if you have a generator, you'll never have to worry about hearing your house if the power goes out! Definitely Recommend!
