You must be able to move or be moved onto the seat. It came with some damage to the frame. We used a crowbar to straightened it. It would be better if it folded up flat but that requires some disassembly. As it is, it takes up more storage space than I would like - but it's an item that makes me feel more comfortable having it than not. It works.

This chair lift a life-saver when it comes to peace of mind! Two words: game-changer. If you or someone you love lives with limited mobility or lower-leg weakness, this is a must-have. I am an older above knee amputee, which as you can imagine, sometimes leads to falls. I used to have to crawl or scooch to somewhere that I could pull or push myself up from in these instances. I am a little on the larger side and my daughter is unable to get me up off of the floor. This item has been a God Send. It works great. The small front wheels do move better on hardwood or linoleum than carpet, so an improvement might be the larger size wheels all around. It is great though that you can wheel it and not have to really struggle with it. I feel comfortable and supported while in it. It is nice because if for some reason I want to get down on the floor, this also works quite well for lowering me too. Although in my estimation, it is a tad pricey for what it is, having it has proved invaluable. Great for those with mobility issues as well as their caregivers.

This transfer lift chair is an outstanding piece of equipment for caregivers and anyone helping a loved one with limited mobility. It feels very sturdy, rolls smoothly, and the low-profile design makes transfers much easier than I expected. I’ve been using this lift chair to help my mom after a couple of falls, and it’s made a big difference in how safely we can get her up. The low seat height lets her slide onto it without struggling, and once she’s settled, the lift raises her slowly and steadily. This has to be the most perfectly designed lift chair I have ever used. The ultra low floor level setting has been an amazing addition to the lift chair we used to have, because this one can be easily scooted under someone who is on the floor and used to assist them in getting up. Its foldable design means we can easily take it with us when we go to family gatherings. It's a great price and device for mobility assistance.
