With miles of electric fence at the nearby animal rescue insulators are always in great demand, with harsh weather they last a couple years and eventually end up breaking. The tool was a nice surprise, it works well and saves a lot of time and effort, I just wished it would work in a standard impact gun although that may be too hard on the plastic… Works well for us!

I live in an area that largely uses metal posts for perimeter fencing so these are of limited use for me. I do like them for the few areas where we have some wooden posts. In those places I typically use them with polybraid, but if I was stringing HT wire on wooden posts I wouldn't hesitate to use these.

The media could not be loaded. These are conventional screw in insulators for a variety of electric fence needs. My neighbour and I collaborate on farming operations at a homestead scale so that’ the context for this review. These insulators are as good or better than any I have used. On the plus side they seem a little heavier than others I’ve used and the included driver I find pretty handy. In the past I had to make up my own. The insulator takes all the varieties of conductor we have which include 3/16” and 1/4” poly and high tensile wire. On the minus side like all the insulators of this type on cheap 1/4” poly you can easily snag and break the conductors on the sharp edges. My braided 3/16” poly is better in this regard but the run of the mill 1/4” material is much looser and subject to damage. The included driver can’t be used with an impact driver since the hex shank is 8mm or 0.311” but my venerable old DeWalt drill still drives just fine at higher torque settings. I’d prefer the insulator to be a bright colour like the one in the comparison photo but reality is black is about the only colour of plastic that can widely be used from reclaimed material. These are well built reusable insulators. For those curious about the insides I burned off the plastic on one so you can see. The steel shank extends around the circular shape of the insulator to the point that the driver would engage. TL;DR; yes I’d buy again. 4 1/2 stars

The tool alone makes me happy I have these. That is a huge time saver. We just recently got a fence put up thanks to my mom and the last thing we have to do is make sure the dogs can’t dig out under the fence. That is where these come in. The tool makes them super easy to install on the posts. Now all I need some wire and a few other odds and ends. Great product that is super easy to use.

these have worked perfectly as replacement parts on my electric fence. Seem sturdy enough, only been using a few for a couple of weeks. Time will have to tell how well/long they hold up.

These electric fence insulators are AMAZING! I have been using the nail on plastic kind of insulators for years... NEVER AGAIN!!! This set comes with a drill bit thing that makes installing these insulators extremely easy! I will NEVER go back to the nail on insulators again!
