I recently needed to replace the head gasket in my 2010 Toyota Prius so while I was at it I was told it was a good idea to go ahead and replace the water pump. Since I had 250,000 MI. I did not want to pay the high amount of a Toyota brand pump so I decided to go on Amazon and bought this one. Bad decision. After just one month I started getting check engine lights in a hybrid system malfunction that shut my car down. The codes that were coming up we're saying I had a bad water pump. I thought something must be wrong cuz I just put a new one on. I reset the codes and the car started working again. It ranges fine for another 2 weeks and then suddenly the check engine light comes back on and once again it's saying I have a bad water pump. I did this four times and every time about 2 weeks later the code came back. Everyone kept telling me I should not have gotten this cheap pump that I need to get the official one from Toyota. So then I had to turn around and buy a more expensive pump from Toyota but what do you know the problem has gone away. I contacted the seller to inform them their product was defective and I would like a refund but I have had complete silence as I've seen some others on here have said happened to them. Save yourself some time and money and get the real deal.

Fit the car perfect and installed easy. Only part of the system bought on Amazon that was worth doing the repair ourselves. It is priced well compared to other places. Still working 6+ months later.

The fit in the quality of the water pump was fantastic put almost 4000 miles on the car so far not a single problem. I did not use the thermostat that came with it because the plastic looked like it would break the first time it got cold. I don’t know the quality of the thermostat, it was way too pretty and shiny and it only wait about half of what the original weighed. But still even without the thermostat great value for the money time. Will tell if it continues to perform.
