I am a fan of the NutriChef NCDH6S.5 Electric Countertop Food Dehydrator. It shipped well with zero damage coming to the product and minimal packaging waste. It didn't' emit any weird odors. There's a detailed but not overwhelming or hard to understand user manual. Inside the pages is Getting to Know Your Dehydrator section, Display, Before First Use, Using, Maintenance and specifications. This book should be kept close for reference as needed. The user interface is easy is to read and not difficult to set up for use. It will beep many times when dehydrating is complete. It will auto shut-off when done so as to not overcook what you've made. It also has a built-in memory so if you plan on doing another batch after one is done it will remember that setting. The Food Dehydrator Recipes booklet is a great addition . It has the following categories for recipes; Jerky, Fruits, and Snacks. Recipes take drying and enjoyment to the next level with adding just a little bit more to each to be dried food or snack. There are cookies, fruit leather, a vast variety of flavorful jerky variations, chips and crackers! I like that a the front of the recipe booklet, there's a cheat sheet chart. This chart list the type of fruit, herb or vegetable and it's proper preparation, texture (pliable, leathery, brittle) and dry time by hours. Having this booklet on hand was great and led me not search all over the net losing precious time. I have dehydrated herbs like basil and fruit such as apples and bananas. I have not made chips or dehydrated jerky yet but plan on that soon. The experience I have had has been extremely favorable. The main trays are easy to clean both by hand and in the dishwasher. Note this only comes with 6 stainless steel trays and 1 mesh screen and 1 fruit roll sheet. I am hoping to get more of the mesh screens and a the fruit roll sheets for bigger batches. I like how it doesn't take up a lot of space and it's easy to slide trays in and out. The door shuts magnetically and it doesn't get very hot on the outside at all while doing its thing. I am a fan of how quiet it is and would compare to a fan on low. Overall, I am quite pleased with this food dehydrator for ease of use and the benefits it gives for food preservation. It is great in helping to create delicious snacks and saving things like herbs and vegetable to add to other dishes I make. Highly recommended!

This thing is AWESOME! I want to share the actual dimensions, so others can make an educated choice. This has over 6 cubic feet of shelf space! They are 13" x 12" each,This is for the NCDH6S.5 model. The actual outer dimensions are; 17 - 3/4" deep; 12 - 3/8" high off the table; 13 - 3/8" wide. I got one with the fan blade off the motor, and had to remove the back cover (about 12 screws) in order to reattach it. It took a few minutes fiddling trying to put on the chrome acorn nut, and I actually grabbed my tap sets, thinking it needed to have the threads chased, and assumed maybe that's why it came this way; because the assembler at the factory didn't? But then I realized it had reverse threads; lefty / tighty - righty / loosie; LOL! But at roughly $96.00, plus another 10% discount; I have nothing but praise for Amazon! this thing is priced at; $200 - $230 at other stores. I was thrilled to see the fan blades spinning so quietly after the minor surgery, with no anesthetic required, lol! THANK YOU. I never could've afforded this without your help....

This dehydrator so far has worked flawlessly. Although I did check the fan blade as another reviewer said theirs was loose and ours was as well. Easy fix so no problem. One thing I will probably do is balance the blade as there is a ever slight vibration when running. Nothing that causes any problems though. I would recommend this unit if you're looking for a decent dehydrator at a reasonable price.

The media could not be loaded. Just received. Packaging was great! Received 3 days early. That was a nice surprise! Have not used yet, but when putting the racks in it’s a bit tough to get them to stay. They’re a smidge too narrow so if they’re not aligned well they tend to drop out of their intended slots. I suppose they’ll work ok, but prefer them to be a bit wider. They do not fit snuggly at all. The fan IS attached on this one! That said, I can’t wait to try it out. Bell peppers coming out of the garden today, so great timing on the delivery.

So excited to have this. Haven’t used it yet. Got it to dehydrate peppers from the garden for tamales and other recipes. Looking forward to making jerky too. Lots of great jerky recipes to try and some zucchini and kale chip recipes that look interesting. Update* Used it last night to dry peppers. It was great! Making jerky tomorrow. Can't wait!
