  • Nice flat electric cooktop
Size: 30 inch
I had a 42” electric stove from 1970-s. 2 burners didn’t work, couldn’t get parts. After measuring decided to put it on top of my old stove. An electrician did the job and it has worked perfectly. My only complaint is that it’s a little hard to clean completely. I’m using Dawn dish soap and a no scratch sponge. ... show more

  • Great upgrade for us
Size: 30 inch
We had a tiny 4 coil burner stove top and only one burner worked. I put this in with no problems. The template is on the cardboard but I cut my counter for a tighter fit. I like the lock feature because the top is very sensitive. When using though, I have accidently turned it off a time or two.

  • Great Service
Size: 30 inch
This cooktop is perfect for my rental property. I had an issue and the customer service went above and beyond to correct the problem! The cooktop works and works great! Would highly recommend as these folks stand behind their product and are easy to work with. Bob Anthes

  • I really enjoyed this product!
Size: 12 inch
However this cooktop comes without a plug. You will need a 220 plug installed by an electrician or someone who knows what they are doing. I couldn’t just plug it in from the box. I also suggest do not glue to countertop. This way you can frequently lift and clean.

  • Wow - Heats Quickly
Size: 30 inch
I replaced a decades-old 5.8KW Whirlpool glass top electric cooktop with this one and couldn't believe the improvement in heating times. The 6.8KW Ecotouch heats very quickly and the touch controls are intuitive and easy to use. I found that the Ecotouch countertop cutout dimensions were smaller than the Whirlpool countertop cutout dimensions and I chose to make some side spacers that were screwed to the edges of the countertop opening to align and support the Ecotouch cooktop in the larger opening and avoid any risk of having the Ecotouch cook top moving around in the countertop opening. Essentially I made the countertop opening smaller. The Ecotouch cooktop wiring might be confusing to some since the three wires on the pigtail were white, black, and green instead of the usual U.S. wiring with red, black, white, and green or ground. I connected the cooktop white to the house red, the cooktop black to the house black, and the cooktop green to the house ground and did not connect the house white to anything. I am an engineer and not an electrician, and I assume no responsibility whatsoever for anyone else's connection issues, but these worked for me. My wife hasn't seen this yet, and there may be fireworks when she does because she wanted a gas cooktop instead of an electric one, but after the smoke clears I think that she is going to love this cooktop! 2023 Update: My wife of 33+ years and 1968 Lindsay, OK High School "Most Likely To Succeed" class valedictorian and 1993 Oklahoma University Law School graduate, claimed that she could never master the controls and insisted that she could never use this stove. What I found out this fall was that she was having a 20+ year adulterous affair with one of her high school classmates, Thomas Hale Hart, and had checked out from our marriage a long time ago. Her comments about the stove being difficult to operate were just something to complain about and had no real substance behind them. Now that I have discovered this adulterous affair and am divorcing her, I'm pleased to announce that this stove is every bit as good as the day that I got it and I continue to highly recommend it to all. ... show more

  • Didn't quite fit, but fix was simple.
Size: 30 inch
I purchased this to replace a Whirlpool cooktop that had a broken glass. This unit was less expensive than just the replacement glass for the Whirlpool cooktop. The Ecotouch cooktop was shorter in both directions than the Whirlpool. The side to side dimensions were acceptable, but the front to back dimension left about 1/4" gap showing and I would have been reluctant to place any heavy pots on this unit because of that. In order to accommodate this cooktop in our existing opening, I fabricated a frame out of 1/8" angle iron, painted it glossy black, and placed it in my existing opening. If you don't have the ability to fabricate this, any local welding shop should be able to make one for you at a reasonable cost. You'll need to bring them the cut out template that is supplied with the cook top and the measurements of your existing opening. Installation is simple. The wiring instructions are very clear. The power cord is hardwired to the cooktop and the junction box. I found that the power cord is longer than I would have liked, but this is because my junction box is within a foot of the opening for the cooktop. The instructions say to not cut the power cord shorter, so I tucked it behind my cabinet supports to ensure it didn't get pinched by the drawers below the cooktop. If the cabinet supports hadn't been there, I would have used adhesive tie wrap anchors and tie wraps to fasten it out of the way. This cooktop heats up quicker than our old cooktop and my wife loves that she doesn't have to clean around, on, and under any knobs. She also loves the timers for each burner. ... show more

  • Not Safe
Size: 12 inch
It’s I/O switch is very much sensitive and can be easily triggered. It is not good because it’s apparently unsafe. A on and hot stove may burn down my house. And I would not put my house on risk. And seems I’m not the first person who think like this. There are a bunch of comments out there complaining the same thing. ... show more
