You can control your speed and ride your legs in cadence with the smooth of the machine. TLDR: It's fine, but I would be hesitant to actually recommend this for a bigger person. I'm 5'11" 250lbs. I got this because it seemed like the best bang for your buck in a folding bike if this size, but there weren't many reviews and nearly none for bigger guys. I ride this bike to and from work a few times a week. It's mostly flat with a few very minor slopes. I charge it every time, but I would say it could get about 35 miles on pedal assist 1 on mostly flat terrain. On flat it does great, but on a steep slope you're gonna be pedaling and it only has one gear. The pedal assist doesn't change the ease of pedaling, only the speed the bike goes when you do pedal. Also, once you stop pedaling the motor kicks off and the bike lurches forward a bit. It's fairly easy to set up, but it weighs a fair bit and can be cumbersome to move around. It does fit folded in the trunk of a sedan. The seat it came with was terrible, get a new one. There's also no convenient was to install a rear basket on this bike with how the framing has been done, but I was able to rig something together. I had to use some lock tight on some of the screws, and had to really adjust the front brakes to stop them from screeching. ... show more

This is the perfect bike for my 8 year old. He can keep up with his friends and even his 16 year old brother can use it. I, his 44 year old father has ridden it. ⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Dangerous – Brake Failure Nearly Caused a Serious Accident I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. I saved for a very long time to purchase this e-bike. I live on Social Security, so this was a major purchase for me. Unfortunately, during one of our first rides, the brakes failed while my family was going down a hill. It was a terrifying experience that could have resulted in a very serious injury. After the incident, the seller asked me to troubleshoot the bike and replace parts myself. I am not a mechanic, and I do not believe customers should be expected to repair a brand-new bike after a safety-related failure. Once a bike has experienced brake failure, I no longer feel it is safe or trustworthy. The customer service process has been frustrating. Instead of immediately taking responsibility for a dangerous defect, I was repeatedly asked for videos, photos, and diagnostics. As a senior on a fixed income, I don't have the tools or expertise to disassemble and repair an e-bike that nearly caused an accident. A product that fails in such a critical safety area should never leave the factory. I cannot recommend this bike to anyone, especially families or anyone planning to ride on hills.
