I got this for my 40 gallon kit kribensis tank. It has gravel substrates and this cleaner made it easy to clean them. The electric cleaner came with several attachments and I use both the long tube and the shorter suction with teeth to be the most effective. It’s able to lift the gravel and fish waste up. The gravel only goes up about 2-3 inches before falling back down, while the waste is much lighter and gets cycled out. The electric pump have a switch on the wire and it’s pretty easy to control. Once a siphon is going, I would turn it off so I can let gravity do the work. On areas where they hang out the most, I would use the motor to make the job faster. It works pretty well and cleaned the aquarium floor pretty quickly. The electric cleaner did require some assembly but it only took me like two minutes. Pretty easy overall. ... show more

I was a bit nervous this vacuum would be a bit oversized and overpowered for my smaller fish tank, but it's just perfect. I love the adjustable length of the vacuum, since I can use it for both tanks in my house. It's super nice to be able to easily pick up gunk in the tank without a full on reset of everything. This out like a pretty light weight aquarium gravel clear. I like design of the overall. This is my first aquarium, gravel cleaner, but it seems pretty straightforward. It looks like you can use this basically as a vacuum cleaner. I don’t have an aquarium, but if I did, I would want to keep the gravel clean for my fish. I would probably remove the fish first as not to disturb them with this device. Overall, I think this looks nice.
