We ordered two sets. These dishes work perfectly with my rustic/old world dining room set. The brown is a dark chocolate and the blue is a pretty turquoise. The dinner plates seemed a little smaller, but when we compared them to the eating surface of our other plates (which have a rim) it was actually larger. And because they are stoneware, they are a little heavier. So we didn't mind the smaller size. The curvy sides make them unique as well. I recently upgraded my kitchen and painted as well with some of my favorite colors, turquoise being one of them. These plates fit right into the color palette and are very nice looking to boot. I love the odd shape as well. Not exactly round and not exactly square. They are a bit on the smaller side but I don't mind that, it makes it easier to figure out where they will go in my cupboards since I don't have to make so much room for them. They are sturdy and solid, not light or heavy but a good weight. The glaze on them means I don't have to worry about food sticking to them too bad if someone happens to not rinse before they put them in the sink to be washed. I suppose you could wash them in the dishwasher but I prefer to hand wash things I want to keep nice, dishwashers have a habit of roughing up dishes. ... show more

I actual bought this product twice because it is a four set. Since I have grandchildren i needed more than a four place. This product is solid. I can heat food in Microwave and i do not get the extreme hot plate/cup. My wife loves the pattern and we have never had any issue with these fading. They look as great now as when I bought. I needed a new set of dishes to replace our set we have had for years that were chipped and fading. These were just so stunning. They look so fancy! I ordered two sets. I see a lot of reviews about the bigger plates being small. Honestly they seem like normal sized plates to me. I compared them to our current ones and they were the exact same size. All of the pieces feel sturdy/solid. Everything looked really true to the listing pictures. My only small complaint is that I did have some color differences in the mugs, which I’ve shared in the picture. It’s not really a big deal to me, but it may be to someone else. Only one mug out of the first set I received was a slightly different color. We haven’t received the second set yet, but I’ll update my review if there are more color differences. There were no color differences in the plates and bowls. You do need to work a bit harder when stacking the plates, as they do have to be a certain way to stack correctly. But overall I’m thrilled with them. They look gorgeous. We’ve put them in the dishwasher many times over the past few days and everything seems to be fine. The picture of the chocolate chip cookie is the smaller plate and the picture of the elf on the plate is the larger plate. My kids left the milk and cookies for Santa on the big plate and then I guess our elf decided to eat some hahahaha! Anyway that should give some of you an idea of the scale. ... show more

... we got 2, service for 8. One of the bowls was broken during shipping. Called customer service and the nice lady there sent a replacement, no questions asked. Guests ALWAYS comment on how elegant they are.
