  • Glad to Have This in the Toolbox
I picked this up the second I saw it. The reason is simple: after a visit to the dealership, three of my tire pressure sensors suddenly stopped reporting correctly. When I questioned it, I was told nothing they had done could have caused it, but they also offered to have a technician perform a TPMS relearn procedure. That immediately got me interested in having my own tool for the job. This relearn tool is compact, simple to use, and appears well built. I like that it is designed specifically for Ford vehicles and doesn't require a complicated setup. Having a dedicated tool available means I won't have to schedule another trip to the dealership for something that should be a straightforward maintenance task. I haven't needed to perform a relearn yet, but it's reassuring to know I have the proper tool available for: tire rotations sensor replacements seasonal tire changes TPMS troubleshooting warning light resets For anyone who maintains their own truck, this seems like one of those tools that's nice to have before you actually need it. Pros Compact and easy to store Simple one-button operation Designed specifically for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles Useful for tire rotations and TPMS service Potentially saves dealership or tire shop visits Cons Requires a 9V battery (not included) Only compatible with supported Ford-family vehicles Must place the vehicle into relearn mode before use Overall, this looks like a practical tool for Ford owners who perform their own maintenance. I'm looking forward to testing it on my F-150 and having it available whenever TPMS issues come up. ... show more

  • Relearning couldn’t be easier.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I tested this TPMS relearn tool on a 2015 Ford F-150, and it worked as expected. The tool was easy to use and successfully activated each tire pressure sensor during the relearn process. One thing to understand is that this tool does not automatically put the vehicle into TPMS training mode. You must first place the vehicle into relearn mode and then follow the specific sensor sequence required by the vehicle. On the F-150, that means activating the sensors in the correct pattern as directed by Ford. Once the truck was in training mode, the tool quickly triggered each sensor and completed the relearn process without any issues. The tool is compact, straightforward to operate, and requires only a single button press. It feels sturdy enough for occasional DIY use and is much more convenient than scheduling a trip to a tire shop or dealership for a simple TPMS relearn. It’s also worth noting that some newer Ford vehicles have more advanced TPMS systems and may not require a dedicated relearn tool after every tire rotation. However, for vehicles like my 2015 F-150 that still use the manual relearn procedure, this tool does exactly what it is supposed to do. Overall, a simple and effective tool that belongs in the toolbox of anyone who performs their own tire rotations or TPMS service on compatible Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicles. ... show more

  • Works for most Fords. Worth it.
I got this hoping to reset my tire sensors but it wouldn't work with my edge but did with my friends explorer. Easy to use. Press the hazard 6 times and your horn will honk twice letting you know it'd in programming mode. Then you start at the front left tire and hold the antenna near the air intake valve on the tire . You may have to change the position to get it to program. Your horn will honk once letting you know it's time for the next tire. You've got 2 minutes to complete it or it resets. Over all it'd a great tool to have and pays for itself instantly. Recommended. ... show more

  • Money Saver. Money Saver.
I’ve been using the GM version of this tool for years to reset the TPMS sensors after I do my tire rotations, and it works like a charm. Now that I drive a Ford, I added this one to the toolbox. Remember, you need to supply your own battery, and I recommend alkaline or lithium, not zinc-carbon because this tool ends up sitting around in your toolbox for years and you don’t want a cheap battery to leak inside the tool. With just a single button, it’s easy to use, but as the 9V battery gets weak over time, you sometimes need to move the sensor around a bit or change the angle to get it to connect with the sensor. Using this tool just a single time will be cheaper than paying a service shop to do the same thing. ... show more

  • Easy to use, works for Ford. Easy to use, works for Ford.
I previously bought a generic programmer for my tpms sensors that didn't work on my 2017 mustang. This one works perfect. After installing new sensors first make sure the car is in learn mode. Its easy to use. Next hold the programmer next to your valve stem on each tire and press the button. You usually start with the drivers front tire first. Then work your way around. Most cars will beep after it is programed. Construction is simple and sturdy and should last a long time. ... show more

  • Unfortunately it didn't work on my vehicles Unfortunately it didn't work on my vehicles
The EL-50449 Ford TPMS Relearn Tool, TPMS Reset Tool, Tire Pressure Sensor Reset TPMS Activation Programming Tool did not work for me. My TPS light was on in my 2010 F150, so I decided I would get this item to either relearn the tires to the TPS system, or at least find out which tire was bad. I followed the instructions to the T and could not get the first tire to reset, which is the front left. I figured maybe it’s the sensor that’s bad, so I went to another tire just to see if it would reset that tire to the front left. That did not work either. So I tried on every tire, and it didn’t work on any tire, in any position, or at any angle. I watched some YouTube videos on how to use this specific item, and it showed the green transmit light blinking when they pressed the button. Mine, however, just turned solid green and stayed that way until it turned off. I’m not sure if mine's defective or if it’s just the video, who knows. All I do know is that this item did not work for me under any circumstances. In the instructions, it tells you a bunch of reasons why it may not work. The way I read the list, the most important part is that if you have ever replaced your sensor for any reason in the past, this tool will more than likely not work on your tire. Unfortunately, I’ve tried, and tried to get this thing to work, and even tried it on my 2022 Ford Explorer that has its original sensors, and still, it didn’t work. I can only guess that maybe the one I got was defective, so all I can do is write the review based on my experience, and in my experience, this item does not work. ... show more

  • Works Works
I bought this Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) tool to reset the tire sensors on my car after rotating my tires. It gets the job done, but it is not perfect. On the positive side, it is very affordable compared to going to a mechanic or a tire shop just to turn off a dashboard light. Once it connects, it flashes the sensors quickly. However, I had a hard time getting it to work at first. The user manual is poorly translated and very confusing. I had to look up videos online just to figure out the exact angle to hold the tool against my tire sidewall. Also, the plastic housing feels a bit cheap, and it did not come with the 9V battery needed to power it. It is a decent budget option for a DIY mechanic, but be prepared for some trial and error. ... show more

  • worked for me worked for me
When I first tested this relearn tool on Ford Explorer it didn't work. I consulted google and learned I would have to put the vehicle in training mode. After following the simple instructions the tool works fine and I was able to reprogram my tpms sensors. The build quality of the tool was what I expected, it's made from plastic, but it's a thick plastic and should last quite awhile. No battery was included, you'll have to supply your own. I do like that it's compatible with many Ford vehicles and should work on my daughters car. I think at it's low price point it's a good value and might save you a trip to the dealer to reprogram your sensors. ... show more
