  • Works Great Once Figuring It Out
This review is for the ThinkTPMS G2 Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) tool. I purchased this device to use in conjunction with a ThinkTool Pro. The unit came with no directions and I could not find any online. Thus, I had no clue how to pair the ThinkTPMS tool with the ThinkTool Pro. After about fifteen minutes of tinkering with it I figured it out. To pair this TMPS tool you need to turn it on by holding the On button for a few seconds and it will boot up (may need to charge the unit first). The ThinkTool Pro also has to be on. Afterwards, select the TPMS icon on the ThinkTool Pro. Another screens opens with a rectangle box containing two buttons, titled Cancel and Scanning. At first I just waited for the Scanning button to go away or for the screen switch to another screen showing the TPMS tool was found. However, nothing changed other than some numbers and texting showing up above the two buttons. I then looked at the back of the TMPS tool and saw the serial number, which was the number on the screen. There was nothing on the screen showing how to progress. So I just touched the serial number on the screen; then the ThinkTool Pro changed to the TPMS screen. Afterwards, I had to select the correct frequency for my vehicle, which I had to find on the internet. Then the screen gives some directions on how to use the up/down buttons on the TPMS tool to select the correct tire. Holding the TPMS tool up against the sidewall of the tire below the stem was able to read the sensors without a problem. The ThinkTool Pro captured the status of the TPMS sensors for all four wheels and indicated each of the batteries were good. The tires were also reprogrammed to their current position on the vehicle. Note: Before I started this process I had put my car in the service mode and the TPMS in the learn mode. These directions were found in vehicles owner's manual. My suggestion to manufacturer and or the resellers is to include pairing directions or provide a link where to find them. Also, tutorial videos would be helpful. ... show more

  • Awesome TPMS add on!
When I buy scan tools I like buying ones that have as much coverage as possible. This add on allows you to do more in depth tpms diag. Keep in mind this isn’t a stand alone unit, you must have the main scanner for this add on to work! You can scan any tpms sensor for any reason. Checking battery life, does that. Need to know an ID for programming, does that. Need to do the actual programming, it can also do that. The tool is even capable of programming Launch branded tpms sensors. Does pretty much everything you could need from a tpms tool with the exception of programming aftermarket sensors for any brand besides launch. I have been using the wand with the k10 and it has been a beautiful combo! I’ve also been surprised at the coverage for newer vehicles. I have relearned a few tpms systems when our factory tool wouldn’t communicate with the vehicle. Battery life is real good. Have only needed to charge it twice in the past few months of almost daily use. If I had to pick out a negative about this product, I’m bumed that the wand screen doesn’t show data from the last sensor scanned. Otherwise, the tool is as close to perfect as it could be. I work in a Nissan dealership and having my own scanner with tpms wand has helped bump my effency number up. Saving all kinds of time vs trying to find/use the shops used & abused tpms tool. Plus this wand seems to work a bit faster than other tpms tools I have tried. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware!!!! Don't buy within this company ecosystem
I have worked on cars all of my life and have owned quite a few scan tools throughout the years. When I saw that this scan tool promised life long free updates with essential a full bidirectional system I decided to give it a try. This is my second unit because the first unit had connectivity issues between the VCI and the scan tool. That tool was within the return window so I returned it and ordered another one. This unit arrived and I updated the unit, bought the screen protector, bluetooth battery analyzer, BT 200 Max and endoscope. Initially I played around with the items and all seemed well. This past weekend my 2022 Silverado set up a code within the ECU so I decided to give the Mucar a try. Needless to say there were issues. The tool connected to the VCI without issue and was able to load the truck's modules without issue. The issues started when I went in to the individual modules. I was able to go in and see the codes and "clear" them, however they appeared cleared on the Mucar but in the truck and on other scan tools the codes were still in the history phase and not actually active faults that were returning. After clearing the codes with my Topdon, I went back on the Mucar to test things out and see what it was all about. Again it sucked pretty bad. On the surface it looks like everything is there and working, but when you start clicking on modules and attempting separate bidirectional features the Mucar falls flat on its face. There is alot missing here. The device looks great, seems to be great but just isn't. After looking at the software versions and build numbers it seems that Mucar is using the same software as Topdon which is a paid service. I'm assuming Mucar is simply copying their files and sending them out to Mucar customers for free. Problem being that the Mucar hardware isn't capable of pushing through the systems appropriately like the Topdon can do. I really wanted to like this company and the scanner but it isn't ready for prime time and customer sales. If you look on Youtube there are a million positive reviews from influencers who have nothing but positive to say. My guess is these influencers are either paid for their positive reviews or they aren't actually going deep through the systems and seeing that this scan tool is only a facade. This isn't just an anomaly dealing with the scanner not working on the Silverado, I have since tried a 2022 Refresh Silverado, 2017 Silverado, 2023 Equinox, 2026 Silverado, 2018 Jeep Wrangler, 2019 Ram 1500, 2027 Subaru Impreza and will continue trying others but each of these have had similar issues where on the surface everything looks to be there but when you start going deeper the modules "fail" to read or simply just can't be cleared etc. I will be contacting the better business bureau regarding the lack of functionality of these devices. I am not the only person having these issues though, there is an entire Facebook group dedicated to the issues these scanners have. I have wasted $625.00 on the Mucar ecosystem that is all a facade. ... show more
