    • Super heavy, but very convenient
This is not light since it’s battery powered, but I love how it’s super quiet. We have a couple single battery chargers for our mower/snowblower, which charge fast. This thing takes a day to charge. I also don’t like the charge pack location, I wish it tucked away better.

I bought this because we have ego products so it's a bonus. I have a gas generator and I use the two to complement one another. This works well for instant power while I get the generator going. It's also nice during the night when I don't want the generator going and I can keep the important items like the refrigerator going. While I am running the generator I can charge the power station. I love my ego tools and I plan on adding more to my collection but this generator is by far my favorite ego tool so far and it does just what I purchased it for And no noise no gas fumes and no carbon monoxide and can control the 3 plugs with WiFi or bluetooth on or off at the touch of your cell phone screen run the plug you need without having to unplug the one you not using at the time ... show more

    • I bought this to go with my Casita camp trailer for off grid.
It probably isn't the best application to use it for camping off grid. I used it for 3-4 days in a campsite that didn't have any hook-ups just to keep my camper topped off. It worked ok for that, but it is heavy to lug in and out of the car. I used it to heat a tea kettle and blow dry my hair as well. That ran the batteries down pretty quickly but still worked. We didn't have any sun in the campsite so I wasn't able to charge my batteries using solar and that's why I chose this battery system. Works ok, but still think there is something out there that might work better for the buck. ... show more

    • Not light, but very reliable and flexible
I have been on a prescription for a CPAP machine since 1997. The old machine is still running, but uses about 50 watts running. Never been able to get a health care provider to write me a prescription for an updated one, since a full 2 night hospital study is required these days, that costs hospital and insurance company thousands. As I am traveling soon from Rio Rancho, NM to Seattle soon and camping along the way, I purchased this EGO inverter and a 16" Ego chainsaw. The inverter will run the CPAP machine for 40-50 hours on a full charge, and with 4 charged 5 amp 56 volt batteries you can cut down a LOT of trees blocking your road. The Ego batteries are one of the most advanced ones available on the consumer market. I can use each night and run lights, etc and recharge during day off cigarette lighter 300W inverter while driving. I am breaking it in running my brother and mine's backyard woodshop shed off inverter, then recharging. I have run 3/4 HP large wood lathe, drill press, sander, band saw, small metal lathe off this unit, and it kicks it. The only reason I gave it 3 on portability is it is not light, ~ 50 pounds with 5 amp battery packs. That being said, you can do a lot with 1.1 Kwh of 110 V AC! ... show more

    • A potentially good product dragged down by lack of customer support.
The unit is, for the most part, well thought out and ruggedly built. My reason for selecting this unit is that unlike most similar power stations, this one has batteries that are easy to swap and it does not need a full complement of batteries to work. The status display is well thought out and easy to understand. My one engineering complaint would be the flimsy plastic port covers that will probably break off during the first transport of the unit. I desperately wanted this unit to work for my application. Unfortunately at the end of the first charge cycle one of the batteries went into a failure mode. A phone call to customer support connected me to someone who appeared unfamiliar with this model. Two followup emails have gone unanswered. After 6 weeks I have to conclude that EGO's lack of customer support is the deal breaker. ... show more

    • Great idea for charging multiple batteries, but with a few MAJOR design flaws!
I'm impressed with Ego brand electric power tools. I bought this power station to charge several batteries at once, so I'm never at a loss of power with the tools. This unit also can charge several devices, which is great!.... BUT, ONE CANNOT DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME! This unit has at least 2 design flaws in my opinion; 1. This unit charges only ONE battery at a time, and rotates the charging to different batteries until each is full (instead of charging all batteries simultaneously); 2. This unit DOES NOT ALLOW FOR SIMULTANEOUS CHARGING OF DEVICES WHILE THE BATTERIES ARE CHARGING! This means one cannot charge a cell phone or laptop from this unit while it is plugged in and charging. This is an egregious oversight (or chince) in my opinion. I have multiple battery packs and each one of those allow one to charge an item while charging the battery pack. I WILL BE RETURNING THIS UNIT FOR A REFUND AND HOPE THAT EGO GETS ENOUGH FEEDBACK ABOUT THESE ISSUES TO FIX THIS OVERSIGHT/DESIGN FLAW. ... show more

Ok this thing is great and does everything you need to do. But you will need to upgrade the to the 12ah batteries for most longest run time for a fridge or freezer.
