The EGO cultivator is a great garden tool. An amazing amount of tilling power. There are a couple of concern items before you purchase one. 1) It's a bit heavy so you must be willing to deal with working the tool with one hand instead of handle bars like a Mantis or equivalent. 2) If you have rocky ground, it's not the thing for you; it works to penetrate but stones cause it to bounce a lot - hard on the machine and difficult to control. I was worried about the pole bending when appling pressure to make a cut or that it would not have enough power because it's shaft driven and the motor is not located on the saw. Neither one was an issue. It felt very comfortable and controlled and easily made cuts on limbs over 8 in thick. This well built cultivator works great on low speed for small plots of soft soil. Despite its appreciable weight, you won't be breaking-up dried clay or hard pan soils with this. Lacking an adjustable depth drag, expect a shoulder workout holding this back as it tries to skip across the plot, even in soft soil. But it is does go down 4 inches churning weeds, scat, and additives back into the soil. Great for raised beds, flower borders, vegetable gardens and even compost piles. The only attachments I don't have at this point are the power broom(s) or the hedge trimmer. I planted some boxwood this year but I think I got into them with the rotary scissors a little too hard. The saw works well and I wish I'd been able to find the extender locally already. My pruning job turned into a tree removal job. I've got an old rotten elm with a living tree growing around it. Can I put a larger bar on this? Going from a 10" to a 16" would be awesome! ... show more

Chews through soil. Better than expected. Works well in rocky soil too. I do recommend you wear a shoulder strap, as the device is draining in your forearms. Definitely recommend this product.
