The EGO minibike far exceeded my expectations for build quality. The paint work is excellent. Body panel fit and finish are excellent. Awesome styling. Well equipped, with brake and tail lights, high and low beam headlight with running light. There are even mounts on the brake master cylinders to mount motorcycle mirrors, which I did add. Power delivery is smooth and linear. The bike was delivered with the headlight aimed too low, but it was adjustable using the same worm gear mechanism as “real” motorcycles. It topped out near 28 mph, but after softening the tires and adding mirrors, it seems to max out more around 26 mph. Speaking of tires, the manual recommends running at maximum tire spec pressure, which for the 56 load index would support 494 pounds per tire (way too much). The ride is just too stiff and harsh on the road, and horrible on a trail, so I lowered the tires to 25 psi, then to 22 psi, which improved the ride quality without affecting handling. The provided knobby tires are bumpy at low speed and noisy at high speed, so I have obtained some Kenda street tires to swap on over the winter. The only other negative is that, while the dash display gives great information, it is too dim to read in sunlight. I may need to tilt the display to a steeper angle and add a sunlight blocking hood. I’m an experienced rider, riding motorcycles ranging from dual sports to 900 pound touring, to a Zero all-electric model. Overall, this MB1000 is a well built, fun little toy. I ordered the mini bike without the batteries and charger. I was able to find two 10AH batteries, and a charger, for way less than what they charge for their two 7.5AH batteries and charger. It was shipped in a steel cage, to protect it. All I needed to do was put on the handle-bar and display-panel. When you turn on the key-switch, it flashes "ready" on the screen, but it isn't ready, until you press the ready switch, and then "ready" stops flashing. Not very intuitive. I didn't enable the "sport mode", since the normal mode is fast-enough (18 MPH) for me. I got it to get around on my property, so not being street-legal isn't a concern. There was some problem with shipping that caused a two-month delay. Amazon's representative was able to get them to ship it. Love the bike! It looks great too! ... show more

This minibike is as well-made as they come. Beautiful fit, and finish and even the way it shipped tells you how seriously ego takes their product quality control. It comes in a box and is fully framed by metal tubing with straps to ensure the bike doesn’t shift during Delivery. The bike is very fast very quiet and extremely well-made. I am shocked at the value. I am no stranger to electric dirt bikes - I own a zero motorcycle and an electric husqvarna. This is a great size for older kids (probably 13 & up) and is even fine for adults, although a little bit on the smaller side. If you already have Ego batteries (which I already have 5 for lawnmower, snowblower, other tools) then this little bike is an incredible value. It is totally silent. I would recommend purchasing without the batteries and buying two 12ah batteries separately instead of the two 7.5ah that optionally come with the bike. Bike is very well built with a lot of thought for convenience (kickstand, frame handle, locked backup battery storage compartment). ... show more

I own the Z6 mower so I already bought in to the EGO ecosystem. I bought this as a birthday present to myself, after watching lots of YouTube videos reviewing and modding them, and I Love it! So much fun for my middle aged self LOL. The quality is excellent, like all EGO tools. It took longer to uncrate it than it did to attach screen and handle bars. This is a miniature motorcycle. It is 168 lbs or so and is really stable to ride. Currently using a 7.5 and 5 Ah battery and getting just over the 20 miles per charge. Light enough to take camping and run around the camp sites. Also does very well on trails and off-road. I am over the max recommended weight limit and it carries me with ease. Assembly is pretty easy with standard hand tools. Recommend ratchet and socket in addition to the tools that are included. Just makes life easier. ... show more

update: after lugging it back to the local big box store to go thru the return process the cashier opened the compartment and found one of the top bumpers in the bottom of the battery copartment which was keeping the battery from being able to be pushed all the way down and click in. We had looked at the bottom of course and did not see it and so we figure when we had to lift and twist and lay the bike on its side and transport it to the store and do it all again in reverse it must have dislodged the fallen bumper allowing it to be removed and now the bike works with both batteries inserted. So check your battery door and make sure all four bumpers are there for the battery otherwise you need to locate it and remove it. Just received this bike and the packaging was extraordinary with a metal frame surrounding the bike during transport. Unfortunately one battery will not seat in the compartment which causes only one battery to power the bike. Now we have to go thru the tedious return process for a shipped item, since we did buy from a big box store hopefully they will handle the return and replacement but now I am cautious of the quality for an expensive "toy". What a disappointment it is obviously a manufacturing flaw or design flaw since as I mentioned the shipping packaging was impeccable. ... show more
