Description

After 10+ days of incubation, eggs generate internal heat, so cooling is essential Pipping Stalls Midway, Some Chicks Die While Others Survive Possible causes include: low humidity during hatching, poor ventilation in the hatcher, or brief overheating. Chicks Stick to the Shell Membrane Causes include excessive moisture loss from the eggs, low humidity during hatching, and improper egg turning. Prolonged/Delayed Hatching Possible causes include improper egg storage, mixing large and small eggs or fresh and old egss in the same batch, maintaining incubation temperature at extreme upper or lower limits for too long, and poor ventilation. Egg Explosions Around Days 12-13 of Incubation Causes include: dirty eggshells, in adequate cleaning of shells allowing bacterial and infection of eggs within the incubator. Difficulty in Embryo Hatching All embryos experiencing hatching diffculties should receive assisted hatching. During the process, gently remove the egg shell while carefully protecting blood vessels. If the membrane is too dry, moisten it with warm water before peeling.

  • Size matters, and this handles a lot Size matters, and this handles a lot
Just getting this setup for the first time, but it seems like it should work fine. The setup is pretty simple, its a straight through power cord. The rubber tubes for water intake humidity control will need replacing eventually, they include a replacement set, just don't lose the plastic connectors that hold them against the water siphon wheel. The hood has a slow moving arm that moves the egg tray to create movement during your cycles, make sure the tab is centered on the end of the tray when you put it on. The tray has dividers, and unless your incubating parakeets or quail eggs, you probably will not need them all at once, so I just put all of them in on one end, then start lining up eggs end to end on the other. once I have a row of eggs, I place the next divider and repeat. I wouldn't hesitate using this for anything except emu and ostrich eggs, otherwise I would say fair game. goose eggs on down should fit fine. I've never seen humming bird eggs, but parakeets I know would be ok too. ... show more

  • AUTOMATIC WATER PUMPING SYSTEM
I have been in the market for a large incubator with an automatic water pumping system. I have numerous incubators. Some have manual water systems. A couple have automatic systems. This incubator met three criteria that I was seeking for my next incubator. First being large egg capacity, next automatic water system and third being an affordable price. This incubator met all three criteria. I set up the incubator to test it out. The incubator water pumping system is not difficult to set up. Loop a poly tube around a pumping mechanism and place it in a water vessel. I then set the temperature and humidity levels and let it run for 3 days. I checked the temperature and humidity multiple times over the next three days. The incubator temperature leveled out after a couple of hours. The humidity took about 24 hours to reach my set point of 55%. I continued to check temperature and humidity over the next 2 days. The temperature didnt vary more than 1° and the humidity stayed between 54% and 56%. Yesterday, I placed 63 jumbo quail eggs into the incubator. I will update my review as incubation progresses. I am hoping for a high hatch rate with such consistent temperature and humidity control. Updated 02/16/2026 My hatch rate was 90%. I candled the eggs at 10 days and found 5 unfertilized eggs. Every fertile eggs hatched. The incubator performed flawlessly. The humidity did not vary more than 2% during the whole hatching period. The temperature held true. There was very little temperature fluctuations. The Quail chicks hatched quickly. Less than two hours from pip to hatch. The chicks dried within 2 hours after hatching. I am very pleased with the hatch rate. The incubator held a steady temperature, turned the eggs every 2 hours and held the set humidity with no intervention from me. I only had to open the incubator once, when I candled the eggs. This also helped to maintain the perfect environment for hatching. I would highly recommend this incubator to anyone looking for a larger incubator. The automatic watering system will increase you hatch rate. As anyone who hatches chicks knows, disinfecting the incubator after the hatch is a must. The incubator was one of the easiest to disassemble and clean. Chick fluff gets into every crevice. I always disassemble my incubator. I try to take apart as much as possible. This incubator was a little harder to take apart. I was able to access down to the fan. It took a little time to remove parts, but I always try to gain access to the fan. Chick fluff accumulates on the fan blades and can adversely affect future hatches due to poor air circulation. Cleaning the fan took a little effort, but was not too difficult. All in all this is a great incubator for this price point. ... show more

  • Large incubator with excellent features but some noise and the eggs drift Large incubator with excellent features but some noise and the eggs drift
This large egg incubator includes a lot of thoughtful features. It has automatic egg turning and automatically stops turning during lockdown, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of incubation. All of the settings are fully adjustable, making it easy to dial in the temperature and humidity you need. The mechanical humidity adjuster feeds water directly into a sponge at the top of the incubator, which helps maintain stable humidity levels. There are also three additional water tanks underneath to ensure enough moisture is available during hatching. I also appreciate that the incubator includes a built-in candling light, which is very convenient. One important assembly note: the doors for the water chambers must be installed from the inside out before assembling the rest of the incubator. That step isn’t very intuitive, so it’s worth paying close attention during setup. The egg cradle slots are highly adjustable and accommodate a wide range of egg sizes. The standard chicken egg slot is slightly raised, which makes initial setup fast and easy. One strange issue I’ve noticed is that my eggs tend to slowly shift down the incubator and bunch up at one end. I’m still waiting on my first hatch, so I don’t yet know if this will affect hatch rates. For now, I simply reposition the eggs back to the center about once a week. Another thing to be aware of is noise. The fan produces a deep, low sound, and the humidity adjuster makes a soft squeaking noise. Neither is extremely loud, but they could be bothersome in a very quiet space. Because of this, I would not recommend placing the incubator in a bedroom or anywhere someone is trying to sleep. Overall, this is a feature-rich incubator with great adjustability and convenience, as long as you’re aware of the minor quirks. ... show more

  • 18/20 hatch rate with this incubator!
We had a really great experience using this egg incubator. We set 20 eggs in it and ended up with 18 healthy chicks, which I think is a fantastic hatch rate. Only two eggs didn’t hatch, and the rest developed perfectly. One thing I really liked about this incubator is how easy it is to monitor everything. The display makes it simple to keep track of the temperature and humidity at a glance, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process. It held stable conditions very well during the entire incubation period. The setup was straightforward and the layout inside fits a good number of eggs without feeling cramped. The clear lid also makes it fun to check on the eggs without disturbing anything. Overall, this incubator worked exactly how we hoped it would. It made the whole process smooth and stress free, and watching 18 little chicks hatch was an awesome experience. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable incubator for hatching eggs. 🐣 ... show more

  • Easy to use, large incubator. Easy to use, large incubator.
Easy to use, large incubator. This not only holds a ton of eggs, but it turns the eggs automatically, and what was most helpful for me, in my dry climate, is that it has a rubber tube (& replacement tube) that runs from the incubator to a bottle that holds water (& was included) to help maintain a consistent humidity. It also has 3 large openings on the lower side that allow you to add water to three different sections of the base, fast than you can if you just let is soak up through the rubber hose. It also allows you total control over your hatch - you can set the preferred temp, humidity, and egg rotation schedule. I also love that it automatically stops turning when you hit lockdown, though you do want to then open it quickly to remove the orange sections that hold the eggs in rows while they incubated. This then allows the entire incubator to be wide open and have a flat bottom when the chicks hatch, not leaving them any place to drown, get stuck, or otherwise. It does get a bit tricky once your eggs hatch and you need to get inside, as, like most incubators I've used, there is no way to hold the chicks in once the top comes off, so that's the only change I would make. Also, the candling light on the top of the incubator was great for my large eggs, but was too wide for smaller eggs, and found that I needed to candle them separately. Overall, Im very happy with it! ... show more
