I use this e-collar to enforce recalls and to enforce my large dog to lay quietly in the backseat when travelling. Without it he sits up and paces the backseat, blocking the driver’s view out the rear windows and generally causing distraction to the driver. Also I am deafblind, so if I do not call loudly enough that my dog does not hear me in our large yard it would not be fair for me to correct him for not coming. But he figured that out and started faking deaf. So this e-collar ensures he heard me and if he ignores the tone recall, the vibration is irritating enough to bring him running to me every time. I love that it can be a humane way to manage my dog where a leash cannot reach him and that it can be used in a mostly positive way. It is the only vibrating collar that actually adjusts vibration strength and can use different vibration patterns to mean different things.     • Deaf Dog? Use This Collar!
The only collar my deaf dog didn't have a negative reaction to since the vibration levels are based on the intensity, unlike other collars that only change how long the receiver vibrates. The receiver is really small compared to others and the quality of the entire product itself is awesome. This is the 10th vibrating collar we've tried to begin the recall training for our deaf dog and it's the only one that finally works how we need it to. Always remember to please use it as a positive correlation, not for aversive training. Your dog will be happier and respond much more efficiently to training. ... show more

Basically useless. I've tried using this collar several times with my pup, who is deaf. I don't want to use a shock collar, so this seemed like the way to go. She completely ignores it, even with the vibration set to the highest level. I also found that every time I used it, the receiver seemed to "un-pair" from the transmitter and stop vibrating. No wonder my pup is confused. We have an appointment with a trainer later today, and he suggested trying again with the vibrating collar. Now I can't seem to even get the receiver to charge. Called customer service and was told it was a "really simple fix" of bending the metal piece inside the charging port out for better contact. This might be simple if I had a tiny star screwdriver bit handy, but I don't. Customer service rep said this is "kind of routine maintenance" for these things, but that's not mentioned anywhere in the troubleshooting section of the user guide, and if that's the case, it would be nice if they made the thing easy to work with (like, maybe a regular Phillips head screw).     • Great for deaf dogs and younger pups
Worked awesome for a deaf dog I trained! I start younger dogs on this before going to a stimulation e collar. Personally, I would not rely on this vibration only model if the dog is off leash as they may get distracted by something and not recall . I use and recommend the Mini Educator which is a low level e collar for all off leash training. Very reliable and humane used responsibly. ... show more

    • Often doesn't work
The part that goes on the collar often will not turn on. When it does turn on, it works fine. I follow the instructions exactly and nothing. Both the collar and the transmitter are fully charged and the part that goes on the collar, 75% of the time will not turn on.

The collars battery life is only 2 days, less if used frequently - also the leader strap is a big big, so I disconnected mine and strapped it onto my own collar. but the product is really good - if my puppy fails to listen, it gets a vibration, which snaps it out of its thought process and remembers to listen to my command... I am happy with it - and I am not hurting my dog with a tazer - still very effective. The switch on light is very useful when walking dog in the dark evenings here in the north (Denmark). yeah, I am pretty Happy with this product, i would say its worth the money. ... show more
