  • Good speakers, good value
Color: Walnut
I bought these speakers because they are active (no separate amplifier), have a relatively large woofer for a satisfying bass, separate mid-range and tweeters, have the latest Bluetooth 6, plenty of power for a medium room, and are attractively simple looking (walnut trim). I am a classical orchestra musician but not a big audiophile and was hoping to rediscover the joy of hearing a soundstage with instruments in an orchestra in their proper places while not spending a fortune. I have a few headphones (including some nice ones from Edifier); they just don't do it. I was very pleasantly surprised by the ease of setup, simple pairing, sound and stereo imaging of these rather substantial and weighty speakers out of the box. The sound is much more realistic than my boombox speakers or mid-range tv soundbar. I mostly listen to internet radio from iHeartRadio or Amazon music for example, so there is a lot of Bluetooth use. I briefly tried them at high volume levels and found a clear, powerful sound with ample bass without a subwoofer, but I mostly listen at moderate levels. After a couple of weeks with them I am very satisfied; I feel I got my money's worth from this purchase. ... show more

  • R2750db kings of sound!
Color: Walnut
Do yourself a favor and get these 💯! They are absolutely amazing. Crystal clear and analytical without being boring. The highs are sparkly and crispy without being too harsh, the mids are really forward and crystal clear, bass is absolutely amazing, no need for a sub imo but if you want to shake the room it has a sub port for it! It handles all genres of music I've thrown at it so far such as metal, rock, rap, EDM, dubstep, jazz, classical, oldies, Jamaican style rasta or whatever you call it. Anything you want it plays well even older songs with low quality I've listened to when growing up sound better! I've had the swan os-10 which are magical for little speakers and I def want to explore more swans if I get a chance, edifier mr5 which slams hard bass and is awesome but sucks at rock and metal, fluance ri71 which was amazing and just as analytical as the edifier r2750db but boring. The speaker itself looks classy as hell, I got the wood grain one, it's still really dark and I barely notice it but man is it beautiful 🥰. Bigger than your avg speakers so make sure you read up on the dimensions. I would recommend 11/10 and I am def keeping these ones! ... show more

  • 3 way speaker is the way
Color: Black
I was going to purchase the R2850DB but this also showed up while browsing for a 3 way speakers. It’s an updated version of the R2750DB. A couple inches smaller but is hi-res certified and with HDMI input as well as a sub output. Use monitor mode if you plan on pairing this with a DAC/streaming device or CD/LP players. Great buy! ... show more

  • Better than expected!
Color: Walnut
The media could not be loaded. Returned the MR5's for these. Exactly what I wanted. Comes with a remote, sub out, HDMI, Bluetooth, and sounds pretty good!

  • Edifier R2750DB MKII: Exceptional Value in Active Studio Monitors
Color: Black
The Edifier R2750DB MKII powered bookshelf speakers represent a compelling proposition in the active monitor category, delivering a 144W RMS three-way system with quad Class-D amplification, Hi-Res Audio certification, and versatile connectivity options including Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial, and line inputs. After extensive evaluation, including break-in periods and comparative listening, these speakers demonstrate remarkable engineering —integrating six dedicated amplifier channels, electronic crossovers, a built-in DAC, wooden enclosures with internal damping, and app-based customization all at a lower cost than comparable passive speakers requiring external amplification. Sound Quality and Performance: The speakers have a 7-inch woofer, 4.5-inch midrange driver, and 1-inch silk-dome tweeter, yielding a lively and dynamic presentation characteristic resulting from discrete amplification per driver. Out of the box, the sound profile exhibited a forward midrange and treble, with pronounced harshness in the upper frequencies and a boxy quality in the lower mids—a common trait in new drivers prior to running in. Following approximately 20 hours of continuous playback at moderate volumes, the soundstage notably improved: bass extension deepened for enhanced authority, while mids and treble smoothed considerably. Even post break-in, the balance remains mid- and treble-forward with residual lower-mid boxiness typical of ported enclosures in this price class. The bass response, however, stands out—tight, punchy, and articulate without boominess or looseness, defying expectations for compact bass-reflex designs. Proper elevation to ear level via stands or furniture is essential; floor placement compromises bass definition and diffuses the soundstage, potentially explaining suboptimal experiences in some user reports. Customization elevates performance significantly. The EDIFIER ConneX app's 9-band EQ allowed precise tailoring: a -0.5 dB shelf from 8 kHz downward to 1 kHz (-2 dB at 1 kHz), -3 dB at 500 Hz and 250 Hz, +1 dB at 125 Hz, and +1.5 dB at 62 Hz yielded a more natural vocal timbre, reduced boxiness, and fuller low-end extension. Among presets, "Dynamic" provided the most engaging profile with robust bass and lively dynamics, though it could verge on hardness with certain recordings. Rear treble adjustment (one to two notches down) further refines the silk-dome tweeter's inherent brightness, avoiding metallic glare. Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, tested via Hi-Res FLAC streaming from a PC, introduced a subtly harder digital character compared to analog line-in through a quality preamp—acceptable for casual wireless use but less refined for critical listening. Wired optical or coaxial inputs preserve greater neutrality. In a medium-sized room, positioned away from corners and elevated, these speakers compete favorably with systems costing significantly more in terms of bass depth, clarity, and overall coherence. The active DSP optimization maximizes driver potential beyond what passive crossovers could achieve with identical components. Build, Features, and Usability: Construction is robust, with wooden cabinets providing solid resonance control. Features like SUB OUT for bass expansion, multi-point Bluetooth, and remote/app control add versatility for desktop, home audio, turntables, TVs, or projectors. However, the remote proves inconsistent—sluggish response requires direct line-of-sight to the active speaker. Sleep mode is another shortfall: the system does not consistently auto-wake with incoming audio, necessitating manual power toggling via remote. Setup was straightforward and the app installed and connected without issues. The app performed a software update on the speaker during testing. I did not notice any audible changes, but its good to know that Edifier actively patches the software to fix glitches that may be found over time. The boxes are too big to fit on a desk, however placed on stands these are great near-field monitors. Conclusion: At their price point, the R2750DB MKII offer extraordinary value, packing professional-grade elements into a compact, multifunctional package suitable for secondary systems, bedrooms, or vacation homes. With proper break-in, placement, and EQ tuning, they deliver dynamic, engaging sound that belies their cost. Minor control interface refinements would elevate them further, but for discerning listeners seeking high-fidelity versatility without ancillary components, these monitors warrant strong consideration. Recommended for: Deskside monitoring, home entertainment, and budget-conscious audiophiles prioritizing active integration and bass performance. ... show more
